  2. ive always thought hitting for the cycle is one of the most overrated accomplishments in sports and never have/will understand why people go so ape shit over em
  3. i think cause its hard to do. A tripl and a HR in one game is tuff?

comparing to statistics, a triple is rare in baseball. now lets add a homer double and single on top of that in one game is quite a feat. I understand where you're coming from and honestly would rather see a player hit 4 homers in one game... Gerut was the 6th brewer in history to do it... pretty awesome when I was watching it yelling "get down! get down!" cuz I thought it was going to be a homer, lol.

now seriously brewers, why does it have to be either less then 3 runs or over 10 runs every night? lets see some consistency.
  5. It has happened an average of 2.25 times a year since 1883 or 289 times. Compare that to the 269 no hitters that have been thrown since 1875, about 2 per year. I think it is appropriately rated, maybe even a little underated.

it's true tho, u get a cycle and ur prob number 1 on espn's top ten...u hit two bombs, a double and a triple instead and all you would get during a highlight is "huge night for xxx"
  7. yea i know its rare and everything but so the fuck what if u hit a cycle, its not like its the greatest thing a hitter can do...fack id rather have a guy go 2 for 5, a homer double and 4 rbis then a cycle with like 2 rbis...a no hitter is the best thing a pitcher can achieve in one game and people value a cycle like its the best thing a hitter can do and it obv isn't...i just think its over valued mainly but still kinda cool to see, all im sayin
  8. lol if you'd rather have your hitter make 3 outs instead of 0.

meh i dont really know the value of getting on base and rbi's and all that baseball shit but idk id rather have a guy go 2 for 5 with 4 rbis then 4 for 4 with 2 rbis not sure if thats what most baseball people think but thats what id prefer
  11. isn't it really dependent on if they score runs or not on the 4-4?? if you go 4-4 with 2 rbis and score 3 or 4 times you get on base then obviously it's better then 2/5 with 4 rbis.
  12. ah true forgot about the runs scored part...meh im just basically trying to say that i dont think cycles are all that big a deal
  13. meh, its got nothing on a hole in one

Don't forget runs scored, since the guy that hits for the cycle will not only make three fewer outs he will also be on base two more times. So I would say hitting for the cycle is more valuable that going 2-5 with four RBIs. Your assumption that a guy who hits for the cycle only produces 2 runs over the long run is not accurate.

Now hitting 4 home runs would be not only more rare (15 times), but more valuable as well.

i didnt say that at all i just gave an example of how i think cycles are overrated, u can hit a cycle and only have one rbi...if u hit a cycle and have like 6 rbis then ya thats a fucking great game but not cuz u hit a cycle but cuz u went 4-4 with 6 rbis, doesnt matter if u had 2 homers and 2 singles, just cuz it was a cycle doesnt make ne difference
  16. back on point here, imagine what could of become of this guy if injuries did not hit him at a young age. Good to see him back and playing well, well done sir.
  17. Brewers now lead the NL in runs scored, despite Prince getting off to the worst start of his career. Now if they could just get a little more consistent, stop blowing saves, and get Prince hot...
