  1. Was in the audience last night for a taping of Rick Reilly's "Homecoming" on ESPN which will air in April featuring Joe Mauer.

Kid is just sick. 26-year old catcher that has already won three batting titles and a MVP.

They also mention a pretty ridiculous stat. The only other players in the history of baseball to hit over .370 with at least 25 HRs going into the final month of the season were Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig, and Joe DiMaggio

He was also the #1 rated football player in the country coming out of high school and was Gatorade player of the year and passed on a scholarship to FSU.

He's up for Free Agency this year. What will the Twins have to pony up to keep him in Minnesota? Or can we already put him in pinstripes for the next ten years?
  2. Basically what I'm trying to say is, I'd hit it.

  3. If the Twins don't find a way to sign Mauer, they should fold as a franchise and give Target field to the Vikings.
  4. Guy is unreal, one tiiiime stay in sota
  5. He's not going anywhere. Not sure why anyone would live in Minnesota by choice, but I guess it's home. I still remember all the so called "experts" ripping the Twins a new one for selecting Mauer over Mark Prior.

  7. If your good at your sport and play in Minnesota, you naturally leave the state. Santana, Garnett, Gaborik, Moss, the Lakers.
  8. I dont know if its because i live in MN, but was waiting for something interesting in your post and didnt see it.

Might as well have just said, he is good at sports

I did hear espn paid quite a bit to have the snow removed from cretin's roof so they could broadcast to the satties tho

-is this common knowledge? And I'm sure most people outside of Minnesota didn't know he was the national player of the year in football.

It's going to take a ton of money to get him to leave the Twins, which means if he isn't a Twin then he's a Yankee.

  17. What makes that stat even more mind blowing is he missed the first month of the year. His first at bat after coming back was a homerun. He isn't going anywhere.
  18. Can he command Arod Money?
  19. I hope Mauer doesn't come to the Yankees, even though he is the best player in the league. I think he is one of those guys like Jeter that belongs where he is for his complete career, and it would be very sad if they couldn't work out some way to keep him.
