    Plz google the phrase. It does NOT mean jumped the gun. It means something completely different. The phrase actually came from an old hit TV series. Can anyone name its origins?

    Happy Days

    Fonzzy jumped the shark on water skis in his leather jacket and the show went downhill from there

    It refers to the point in a TV shows evolution where it went from decent to bad. The first reference was indeed when Fonzie jumped the shark on Happy Days.
