  1. I overheard my neighbor two weeks ago talking about how he was thinking about building a fire pit in his backyard. I was like fuck that. I better make one first, and better than the one he was describing.

I had some space out back that I had been planning on cleaning up anyway. Time to get busy.

Clearing out a spot for the footing.

My forms all staked out and ready for some concrete.

    Just finished pouring the concrete.

Took the forms off and checking for level.

    I can live with that.

The white bricks are the fire bricks. This was my first time mortaring bricks into place. What a pain in the ass.

The base is all set. I let it sit overnight before I put on the cap. Didn't get any pics of doing that though.

A buddy owed me a favor and gave me a couple free blue stone for some steppers. The bigger ones were close to 100 pounds.

    All cleaned up.

Inside of the pit is 36" across. It was 24" deep and I put in about 6" of pea stone in the bottom. Will be lighting that fucker up this weekend and having a nice BBQ. Prob will get a little drunk and light off some early fireworks. I will def invite my neighbor. Suck it buddy.

Oh and I smoked some ribs last weekend. I snapped a couple pics before I raped them. I have a pretty good life.

  16. Very nice! Our fire pit gets used a lot. It's amazing how people, kids and adults, love to sit around a fire. We have had some nice nights around the fire with family and friends. Nice job on the construction.

Lol I missed the bear. Yeah it was carved that with a chainsaw. He's getting a little rotten though.
