Just had my appendix removed!

    On Tuesday night I went to the hospital for some stomach pains. By midnight they were admitting me to the hospital and by 10:30 the next morning I was in surgery. It was my first surgery that I have ever had. I now have been home for the last 2 days with nothing to do because it hurts to much to sit at the computer...but still made time to tell OT about it...

    By the way, surgery went well...

    Yah Ive had mine out as well, glad that youre ok and out already. For mine I was in the hospital for two weeks. Mine ruptured and then I developed an infection while recovering. Fun times.

    You don't want to see my fat stomach. I have three very small holes in my belly where they cut out the appendix. They also said they ran a camera down my throat so they could see what they were doing...technology is just crazy.

    my father in law had his stomach removed today (cancer). that's gotta suck. 6 hours in surgery. just came out a couple hours ago.

    I had mine removed when I was 14. I was ridiculously sick for several days and finally had to call 911 when I was home by myself. They came and within hours I was in surgery. The doctor told me if I had waited another couple hours before calling 911 my appendix would have burst and killed me.

    I was in the hospital for a week. I could barely move and walking to the bathroom was painful. The only good thing about that experience was the morphine they were constantly shooting through my IV.

    I went into the hospital early Wednesday had it taken out within four hours and was out of the hospital and at work the next day. In 5 1/2 years at my old job, it was the only sick day I ever took
    same three holes as OP.

    edit: by the way the bill for the 24 hours I was in the hospital inculding the operation was ike 16k. thank goodness I had health insurance

    I had the largest appendix ever removed at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. I've got a pic at home. Maybe I'll scan and share it.
