  1. Anyone else watch this fucking show. Wife made me sit thru all 13 episodes of this bad acting crap just for AMC to not end the fucking thing like they advertised. Now I am suck watching another damn season.
  2. Huh? Loved it. Thought the acting was excellent.

  3. watched first ten minutes of first episode and thought it was bad. insta deleted episode. Then I read a tweet tonight from someone saying "Killing season finale on AMC tonight. This is the best show on television."

Show is probably right up there with Franklin and fucking Bash.
  4. Amazing show! I still think one of his assistants did it.
  5. Holy shit the show was great...one of the better first season finales of any show since Dexter imo

Turning off a show after ten minutes of the first episode is huge misstep

  7. great acting, awesome photography, but it is very misleading. They jerk the audience off every episode then pull the rug out from under you. Better than most but not as good as the best
  8. After Bill Simmons' recap no way I could sit through the show and not be disappointed

If I invited you to my house for dinner tonight, you would come over and expect me to serve you food. Right?

Well, imagine we were having drinks in my living room for two hours. You're looking at your watch. It's 8:30. You don't smell any food. You don't say anything. Another half hour passes. You're on your third drink. You're getting legitimately hungry. You still don't say anything. And then, a half hour later, I stand up as if I'm ready for you to leave. We have this exchange.

Me: "All right, it's getting late, we should probably wrap this up."
You: "I thought we were having dinner?"
Me: "Tonight? No, I never specifically said that — I invited you over for a dinner."
You: "Well, you asked me if I wanted to come over for your house for dinner. I said sure. You said, 'Come over at 6:30.'"
Me: "Exactly. But I never said we were eating dinner tonight!"
You: "You said you were making lamb chops. You e-mailed me that you couldn't wait for me to taste your lamb chops."
Me: "I know, I know … I meant down the road though!"

  9. sepinwall killed it too. this (along with game of thrones) is the sort of show that, while i missed the first time through, i expected to catch up on at some point (through netflix or whatever). looks like i won't now.

when in doubt defer to alan sepinwall, im a huge fan of his and read his writeups after nearly every episode of every show i watch that he covers. this show was really quite awful and i feel completely mislead. i spent 13 hours watching it and the ending didnt provide any closure. ugh. i will for sure not be watching this next season.

I thought that Simmons' article was great and I've never seen an episode of the show. Tribute to his skill. No one has ever footnoted better in history.
  16. This line sealed it for me

I can't remember a single show damaging a network's brand this severely, to the point that AMC either needs to apologize, offer the entire Breaking Bad series on DVD for 85 percent off, or even publicly distance itself from the show the same way a sports team distances itself from a star player who does something horrible. That's how bad this was.
  17. i can tell whether or not its a good show from who likes it and who doesnt in this topic

  18. The killing was the television equivalent of the "myspace angle" fat chicks use. The settings and how it's shot give it this tremendous feeling of gloom, there is some good acting, and it's really suspenseful for the first few episodes. It has the look and flow of a really good show through 3 episodes. Midway through the season I thought it was average at best, but that it could be redeemed with a good last few episodes and I really just liked the idea of one season murder mysteries. THe last two episodes made me realize it's a spectacularly bad show. The characters outside of the 2 cops are all cliche and one dimensional, the murder victim was never a major part of the story so the case was never as interesting as it could have been, there's sloppy writing and ridiculous plot holes, and there's no continuity to the story. I could even live with all that if it wasn't for the writers thinking that random, implausible, and constant misdirection is compelling. I really feel like the show could have been very entertaining if not excellent with different writers using the same premise and characters.

I didn't think it was that big of a deal that the show didn't resolve the story in one season. If it was a good show, I don't think I would have had a problem with it. I've never seen Twin Peaks, but everyone raves about that show and it took two seasons to solve it's murdered girl case.
  19. Lol first episode wasamazing. Stopped at third episode bc it sucked monkey balls.

Still, can't be a bad as lost, I mean, really, it was a magic phuvking cave? Phuck those dudes for t akin about 250 hours of my life.

And I'll be damned if my iPad isn't diesel xic.
  20. breaking bad is the best show on tv and that channel with the killing i belive its the cadidate for mayors assistants who done it or the guy at the beggining that they showed at the part he was talking too with b ball hoop in his house

he started working for the mayor after Rosie was killed, and had worked for the councilman for 10 years.

That's what they lead you to believe. I honestly loved the show, although the ending in the finale pissed me off because they mislead everyone. I thought the acting was excellent, but I really dislike the woman that plays Rosie's mom. She's a twat in every role she plays.

  27. I do think the acting of the main characters in the show (Holder ftw) has been mostly excellent, the series premier was absolutely gripping. The last few episodes have been going into the direction of trying to trick you more so than developing the story and have meaningful twists.

FWIW I am hooked but the last episode left a sour taste in viewers mouths. We will see if season 2 can really stretch this case out any longer while maintaining the same gripping story that the show has going for it.
  28. one positive thing about season 2 is that this case gets concluded before the end of it and another case is introduced. The fact that it can end at any point will make their red herrings less obvious so there won't be another 4 episodes spent investigating a guy like the teacher who everyone knows didn't do it.

Nobody agrees with me? The first two or three episodes were great, it slowed in the middle of the season while they were gathering evidence and dealing with the grieving family. There is no denying that the season finale was really well done...I guess you read my comment as the entire show was outstanding which I understand is confusing when I was really trying to just say that the season finale rivals Dexter's season one finale episode.
  30. This show was pretty good. There were parts that werent the best but there was way more that totally worth watching. If youre rating on watch or not watch its a watch.

And warden dont use 'literally' anymore seeing as you dont know how
