What do you think Obama is going to do?

They paraded his dead body in the town square. That's sick.
  2.

An "angry crowd" marched on the U.S. compound Tuesday, furious about an American-produced online film considered offensive to Muslims, said Libya's Deputy Interior Minister Wanis al-Sharif .

    Seems like a reasonable response.
  3. those sick fucks!
  4. He'll start by getting someone to replace the cell phone with a gun barrel.
  5. :( awful awful stuff
  6. Some people in Libya gunna be getting some midnight visits from seal team 6.
  7. :( very sad...that picture sickens me.
  8. Don't worry everyone, Libya and Egypt are much better off now than when Qadafi and Mubarak were in charge. Hope norcaljeff is paying attention.

  11. BARTLET: Did you know that 2000 years ago a Roman citizen could walk across the face of the known world free of the fear of molestation? He could walk across the Earth unharmed, cloaked only in the protection of the words civis Romanus - I am a Roman citizen. So great was the retribution of Rome, universally understood as certain should any harm befall even one of its citizens. Where was Morris' protection, or anybody else on that airplane? Where was the retribution for the families, and where is the warning to the rest of the world that Americans shall walk this world unharmed, lest the clenched fist of the most mighty military force in the history of mankind comes crashing down on your house! In other words, Leo, what the hell are we doing here?

MCGARRY: We are behaving the way a superpower ought to behavior ought to behave

BARTLET: Well our behavior has produced some crappy results. In fact, I'm not 100% sure it hasn't induced it!

MCGARRY: What are you talking about?

BARTLET: I'm talking about 286 American Marines in Beirut! I'm talking about Somalia, I'm talking about Nairobi!

MCGARRY: And you think ratcheting up the body count is going to act as a deterrent?

    BARTLET: You're damn right.

MCGARRY: Oh, then you're just as stupid as these guys who think capital punishment is gonna be a deterrent for drug kingpins. As if drug kingpins didn't live their day-to-day lives under the possibility of execution. And their executions are a lot less dainty than ours, and tend to take place without the bother and expense of due process. So my friend, if you want to start using American military strength as the Arm of the Lord, you can do that. We're the only superpower left, you can conquer the world, like Charlemagne! But you better be prepared to kill everyone. And you better start with me, because I will raise up an army against you, and I will beat you.

BARTLET: He had a ten day-old baby at home.

    MCGARRY: I know.

    BARTLET: We are doing nothing.

MCGARRY: We are not doing nothing. Four highly rated military targets?

    BARTLET: This is good?

MCGARRY: Of course it's not good, there is no good! It's what there is. It's how you behave if you're the most powerful nation in the world. It's proportional, it's reasonable, it's responsible, it's merciful, it's not nothing. Four high rated military targets.

BARTLET: Which they'll just rebuild in six months.

MCGARRY: Then we'll blow 'em up again in six months! We're getting really good at it!
  12. religion fucking everything up
  13. There's not going to be drone strikes. These are the people we supported in The Arab Spring.
  14. let the guy who wrote the book which incited all this violence go over there and man the american embassy - that would be a good start

    Reason: words
  15. The US Embassy in Cairo issued this statement yesterday:

“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”

Here is an early statement by Obama this morning before the explosion of criticism:

“While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.”

It seems he has left the part about rejecting efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. I like it when he tells us what he really thinks. People attack and kill US citizens in a foreign embassy and teh forst thing he says is we reject efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. What a superb leader. Let's see what he does now.

I hope he doesn't piss off the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. lol What a fucked up foreign policy.

agreed. It would be really easy at a time like this to just jump on the white, redneck, willywoo, muslim-hate train. But it's good to see him stand up for the rights of individuals to practice any religion they wish, even in a tough time like this.

    a superb leader indeed.

I might release that statement too if I was surrounded by a bunch of pissed off Muslims. Self preservation FTW. Lol
  19. LOL MUSLIMS
  20. I think that picture is being shown out of context. From what I've seen on the news, "Some Libyans carried Amb. Stevens to the hospital". Usually when you parade a dead body it's several people carrying the body above their heads. This looks more like a fireman's drag to safety.

But I guess it's better to stir up even more hate in a time like this by portraying fear and anger instead of using the truth.

You're right and I hope that is the case...I just chose to take OP at his word, and it's a really disturbing image if so.
  22. That's fucked up! too bad no justice will touch the culprits...

    RIP US Ambassador

  23. k that pic seems a bit harder to explain than the fireman's drag.
  24. Was there enhanced security in place on the anniversary of 9-11? If not, let the lawsuits and Congressional investigations begin!

When was the last time that Obama received his daily intelligence briefing? Sept 5th oh rly.
  25. “I don’t think we ever hesitate when we see something which is a violation of our principles. We express immediately when we feel that the president and his administration have done something which is inconsistent with the principles of America. Simply put, having an embassy which has been breached and has protestors on its grounds, having the violated the sovereignty of the United States, having that embassy reiterate a statement effectively apologizing for the right of free speech -- is not the right course for an administration.”

    This is from NBC.com.

I am saddened by this course of action, and just as angry, if not more, than sad really. SO many levels of the head exploding with what to say, how the hell to purge some of the mental munitions, and not take tangents to Deep Space 9 territory, but here come’s an exercise in free speech on the fine soapbox we stand upon today.

My clear, and honest condolences. Without saying more, have said all there needs to be said here, unless someone is going to promise me a candy-pop ring, in which case, I will shed tears for it…not. Don’t want it, would throw up if I tried to eat anything.

America is not just the star QB, it is an all-star team. Comprised of many heroic efforts, the majority of which are never seen, and the efforts become washed in mundane circumstance. Machinarium mechanics blend into the fold, and we seldom get to see the true inspiration of those who stand for their beliefs, and have the courage to fight in the arena. Marching bands do suck I agree, but not all is lost because of this. The democracy says so.

Living in this democracy is not easy.

This “global” democracy is not defined on the pages of the NYT, or the Huffington post alone.

We all know this, but if and when time can be found to ponder it, how many embrace it, and act on it, auctioning verbs to accompany the nouns in objective political action?

If this action is combined with force, does that correlate to a “bad” thing? Of course, bias will affect the color of the grass on your side, and without doubt, that green grass over there is “different”, but how, why, in what capacity does it make a difference to “you”? Today.
The fools, the ignorant fuqs that can somehow insert comedic black humor into a circumstance that stands for so much more than just a meat puppet paraded (*saved or displayed, it was and is a parade, the message, decide if you have an IQ to stand on) in the streets of a foreign faction, oh they exist, look around, don’t have to look far.

    Do we kill them?

You know you are smarter. You know you are right.

Anything they say, or do, can, and will be used against them.

    Pretty clear.

    Or is it?

You made a stand, that says, we are here, and will take no chances with our people. We stand for this global good. Obama said so. Bush said so. Decades have said so.

    America does not take shit.

It will alter “America’s” approach as America changes, and subject to the passing of time, the “nominal” changes in social convention since the founding of modern nations have such “clean, and crisp definition”. No longer just “crazy”, but a selection from one of the fine tabs available in the newest Global Broadway hit, How Much More Crazy can Fill This Non-Profit Publication. Produced by Woody Harrelson, the APA, and BigPharma DogBot XXIV, © 2012.

    ’52, ’68, ’80, ’87, ’94, 2000.

Wonderful life, to have so many more definitions of “wrong” and “write”, and the media that can produce them, and the lovely plankton about to apologize for making a stand.

Thousands of names for anger, but only one name for justice.

You stand, get counted, and expect to get the same honest game any other would seek in Bobby’s room.

Got to be “fair”, that is what "we" stand for.

I don’t care about sitting here, and debating multi-axial democratic conventions, or the source or concerns of others issues, they have a course of action, and one group, allowed another, to somehow get what “they” wanted done, done.

How about becoming critical of the validity, or cultural bias that comes from these “imposed” (*no wait, FOX said they are real, Obama says so, UD believes it per a skype message…I hz chzbrger?) symptoms of conflicts, and the interests that surround them? Political consequences of survivors, oh my, gasp, consumers?!?!

I think I am pretty open, and can be a little unclear at times, even evasive for my own selfish pleasure and entertainment, we all are. I accept the right to choose, and that is in all capacities of my life. I accept the right for another to enjoy “meat” while another likes “clam”. What happens in the bedroom, is your issue.

When you bring it out in the open, and tell me, I have a choice.

I can engage in a sound discussion that clearly articulates, the plan and relationship for a sound delta of time to transpire, for our interaction. As a friend, a life time, that is credible and real. As a family member, an emotional chain can hamper the walk down the road chosen, but somehow we find the respect and courage to make it clear.

This changes when I am in the company of strangers, let alone threatened.

I will jockey for position in line, or hustle to open a door.
    Kindness is an option.

Respect for space is a right, and I am willing to fight for it.
    In some cases, die.

Now being this very respectful person, and with a snap of limited tolerance for certain of my rights and values, which I honor for other’s as I do the daily bread, and the forgiven trespasses or errant comet/star/spaceFebreeze, I ask that I do not get assaulted in the shower, or the change room.

I know there are going to be dicks around. I choose to try to avoid looking at them, and do my best to think about my gf/wife/life. But you get the odd look, and move on.

The next day, a proposition is made about some views I do not agree with. I state I do not agree with them, make it clear, dick in this vicinity is not an interest, and ensure this “common area” member, keeps his in place.

A third day finds me somehow tapped on the shoulder as I am sitting on the bench. This “person” is now not only physically interfering, he is taunting me. The escalation is unacceptable, in fact, I am going to simply crack that skul…no, we must use, logic and love to conquer this, no racism, no hate, we are real humans here, we all know many will turn the other cheek here…

On that fourth day, when you don’t even feel the spit on the brown star before the raping begins, do not go to the Customer Service Counsel and ask for the member to be spoken to, do not seek sympathy from your friends about this “surprise” attack.
You got fucked, because you wanted to. If you didn’t, you would not have gotten to the fourth day.

When you say you have your brother’s back, and your limbs are torn off, and you are ready to die, you stand at that gate. You have every possible Blackhawk on ice, and a couple of belief grenades by your side.

I am not so human, all the time.

Sometimes, I am just an angry block of cheese.

Sometimes, I am just a laughing fool.

But anytime, I believe that simply, what you do with dick, is a lot different than what I do.

I believe, approach to cause me, my family, my beliefs in liberty, freedom and knowledge…harm…

Then again, what do I know, I was too busy correcting typo’s on the accurate reporting of the statement from Romney…well played media, thank you for showing us that the honor of serving country, beliefs, knowledge and humanity, the foundation we hold so dear, is held to the highest standards and best practice’s by the elected people, the chosen leaders of the modern world.

Thank you, for another day of just being able to live in the moment.

Right now, the moment would involve some horrible screenwriting about what I would be doing with a “vacationing” group of motivated “philanthropists”.

Yeah, take’s all kinds, don’t worry, there will be a Father Mulcahy on the J-Team.

    Promise, JG said so.

“This is Robert Pierpoint in Seoul. I've just returned from outside the newly built conference hall in Panmunjon. The hall is a symbol of the renewed hope for peace. It is almost finished, and you can still smell the greenness of the wood. Two years of constant disappoint have made skeptics of us all. However, the word from Panmunjon today is that an armistice agreement may be reached at almost any hour. While one of the bloodiest battles of the war rages on, it seems peace is finally within our grasp.” M.A.S.H

We bombed Libya and armed them.

My drone comment was in response to the pic of the drone which was in response to the question of what we do now.

Oh and we give both countries shit tons of money

  29. So they are trying to make an anti-American protest while wearing Levis jeans and holding iPhones in their mouths. Reminds me of when they searched bin laden's hideout and found american porn and coca-cola.

The people over there really need to get a grip on reality and rethink wtf it is they're even so pissed off about. So much senseless violence.
