For those of you to lazy to watch basically you play video games with no controller its a motion sensor with voice reconigition. Looks insane!

It doesn't look very insane imo. You're not going to want to play "real" games without a controller. Look at the delay @ 0:45... looks about a 1 second delay. Also, with games like Mario Kart, it was fun to play the game once or twice holding the controller like a wheel, but the game is much more fun with traditional controlls.
The games that are going to use kinect are probably the same type of party-games that are on the wii.
Yeah, it might be fun for about 10 seconds, but lol @ "changing video games forever". -
Price point?
If it's over 500, gg microsoft. -
No this will fail miserably. Playstations move will do better then this
-
This is fucking dumb. It might be ok for kids games and shit but do you really wanna play Halo,GTA,NFS,MvC3, etc etc like that over a controller? It might make it in a little niche market but fuck that shit for real gaming.
-
idk how they think this is a good idea... it's good technology, but it's just not going to be successful for gaming.
-
I think its selling for $150.. I dunno i think if the bugs are worked out it will be very cool. I'll def try it out when it comes out.

Edited By: Scha Jun 18th, 2010 at 06:01 PMYeah, I heard the same seculations from in-the-know people. Some games are really cool with new "controls" like this, like wii bowling. It is super fucking allsome. Noone had done anything like that when it came out. There might be a couple cool games with this contol scheme, but when you have NOTHING in your hands that can measure gravity, or button clicks, there isn't THAT much more you can do then you could have done with something like the PlaystationEye.Originally Posted by PerfectPoker

That's the reason I think this is going to be a flop.
Edit: The coolest thing I've seen from E3 is the Nintendo 3DS.. 3D graphics without the need of glasses. I'm looking much more forward to trying one of those. -
You meant to make this about 3DS, correct?
Because that is the true answer if you aren't an xbox homer. -
As has been said better by others, all this motion capture crap is a fad that will be dead soon because at their core, video games are for people to unwind and nothing is less like unwinding than flailing your body and arms all over your living room.
Besides, what games is all this technology for anyway? No one (other than Euros) gives a shit about driving games. All this new technology is great but I have yet to see any of the big 3 use it in a way that's even remotely appealing.
They should just make an x-rated game that uses the motion capture to let you fuck space whores for the highest orgasmibble score. -
the ps move will be better for the simple fact that you can use it to aim perfectly 1 to 1 in a first person shooter like SOCOM. a lot of the game websites said that was pretty awesome. other than that tho, i think it'll be pretty ghey too, just not as ghey as kinect.

You guys do realize that was just a tech demo right? The guy wasn't doing anything other than acting, henceforth the delay. (At least I'm 98% sure.) People who think Microsoft is going to revolutionize video-gaming with Kinect are clowns. Cloud computing is what's going to revolutionize video-gaming and MS is in a much better position to do this then Nintendo and Sony.
The real goal of Kinect, IMO, is to remove the remote control from the living room. Gamers are just the guinea pig, lol.
