Kurkistan? (sp?)

    My daughter-in-law was deployed to this place and no one in the family has a clue as to where it is. I know we have some military members here, so hopefully they can help.

    I think that it was part of the Soviet Union near Iran and Iraq. Google and Yahoo keep asking me if I mean Kurdistan. There are some referances to Kurkistan on the web from people who are there or have been there, but make no mention of where it is or what we are doing there. Anyone know? I would assume it is a staging area for Iraq or Afganistan, but have no clue.

    Thanks for any help and if you know then you're probably in a dangerous part of the world. So thanks for what you are doing. (I guess the real question is: is our boy's wife in any danger?)

    and she's being deployed into a war zone, so technically she's in danger. At least a lot more than we are over here. Best of luck to her. Hope she comes back safe.

    It's Kyrgyzstan and the U.S is closing down the airbase soon and completly leaving
