  1. I work in a "right to work" state as a personal trainer in a Corporate Gym. The laws typically favor the employer over the employee.

Today after months of being told about this new beneficial payment plan for trainers which was going to improve I find out it is absolutely not going to improve. I was told my session rate would improve but it went down , my sales comission itself went from 10 percent to 3 percent.

I was then presented with a contract and told to sign it.. it was very vague and wasn't narrowed down and left sooo open that I felt uncomfortable. I asked if I could review it and denied.. I asked for a copy and was denied... I asked if I signed it could I get a copy of it and was also denied despite having a copy machine outside the office. I was told I had to request it thru human resources in a week.................... I signed it reluctantly then I realized how drastic every cut was and quit.......
  2. Where is the question?

And FWIW every state should favor the employer over the employee
  3. You did not want to work there anyway. You may qualify for unemployment due to a change in circumstances.

The question is I as an Employee if I am asked to sign a contract regarding pay agreement that is being renegotiated aren't I allowed to have a copy of it for review? Either to give me time to interpret it and also allow me to make sure upcoming paychecks are correct and in line with the agreement.

Are you an employee or an independent contractor? I had a few buddies who worked within a corporate gym as a personal trainer and they were classified as "independent contractors"
