So my gf rented a house that I plan on moving into when I get there and the landlords knew that with me being stuck at basic training with my ankle I wouldn't be able to sign the lease until I got there. They agreed to just have her on the lease but wanted me to sign when I get there.
She moved into the house (its in arizona) and signed the yearlong lease. When she got into the house, she realized it wasn't completely ready yet with what the landlords were saying would be done. Light fixtures weren't put up, oven diddnt work, dishwasher didn't work, fridge didn't work, closets were all malfunctioning doors. So she told the landlord and the landlord got upset and starting yelling at her but eventually fixed the problems. I also talked to the landlord after she yelled at her and she was much more civil to me caliming my gf iss just young and immature (she's 20). I just shrugged it off. A few days later, they're complaining because my name isn't on the lease now. They agreed to the situation beforehand but now they have an issue with it. I agree to have them fax a lease to me at my company commanders office so I can sign it. My gf hadn't faxed it for a week because they told her she had to fax it.
Yesterday the landlord called and said she'd be coming over because blinds were being installed. I had a non permanent security system sent to the house from amazon cause my gf was scared of breakins and living with just her kids. I also had an orkin man coming the same time as the blinds to solely spray nothing permanent being done to the house. My gf also had an autistic friend over while they were there. The landlord shows up and asks why this "weird" guy is here as if my gf isn't allowed to have guests. She then sees the security system, still in its package, and yells at my gf for not notifying her we were installing something that will do no damge and we'll be taking with us when we leave. Then she sees the orkin man and yells at her saying she should have contacted her bug guy (we did, he referred us to orkin). Now she's saying she's evicting my gf annd I have to be the only one on the lease and I have to sign it (not happening). She's also threatened to evict us for wanting things fixed and for my gf being too young. She also told my gf she feels sorry for me for dealing with my gf and her "loud ass kids." She keeps telling my gf to just leave for no reason.
What's her recourse for them trying to evict us without cause? Do you think we have enough of a case to sue for harassment if they threatened wrongful eviction twice and show up without written notice to our house? Her autistic friend heard everything and would go to court if it came to that.

Evicting someone is one of the hardest things for a landlord to do especially if you abide by the rules and pay rent. Def being a cunt but dont think they can evict altho i'd consult your states landlord tenant act

Consider this a blessing, abeit a bitch in the front part. If this is a preview of how the tenant/landlord relationship would be then GTFO and find another place to rent. You do not want someone like this when you encounter issues down the road, and you know you will.

she can't "evict" you for that bullshit. finding a new place is the only reasonable option and I'm sure she'll give you the deposit back if you 2 can act like real people for a few minutes.

That didn't help her case. She obv has an extremely poor choice in men as well as extra baggage. GL I definitely don't envy you.

didn't read OP and just scanned. Seems like this would be a good time to rent-to-own. Especially where housing prices are low like the SW.

landlord wants to evict them. I'm assuming the landlord does not want to evict them AND collect a years rent.

You might have a good shot at fighting this eviction if it was worth it, but I don't see how continuing to deal with this landlord is worth fighting for in court or anywhere else.

They let your gf sign the contract. That's the deal. You never need to sign it. Its your gf's lease. not yours. Also, they can't evict you for anything unless its specified in the lease. I caution you, however, you WILL not get your deposit back once the lease is over. They will nitpick and have you paying for everything. You can report everything wrong with the house and usually they have to come and fix it.
