Brady should have another monster year as long as his o line doesn't get him killed. They have a bunch of scrubs now on their o line. Brady took some huge hits in the preseason.
-
Dirk has played in about 150-160 more games than Bird iirc.
-
i was hoping to get calvin with the 7th pick but he went 5th..when healthy i think mcfadden is 1 of the best fantasy guys in the league but he literally never stays healthy...i was gonna pick chris johnson but he scares me also so i just went with brady and said fuck it...it does scare me that their o line is not protecting him...somehow fred jackson was still there for me in the beginning of the 3rd round so i think that was an absolute steal..its a ppr league btw

There are only a handful of true feature backs left in the league. If I were you I would've drafted CJ2K Darren McFaddy or Megatron at that spot.
Vick is a super value pick at 38 or whatever it's ridiculous that he's going so late this year. People sure have short memories. D Jax gonna kill it this year. -
How many points for TD passes Jsup?
-
6 pts for td passes
5 ppg difference might not sound like a lot but it adds up...in our league last year rogers had 485 pts and eli had 330 -
I think you made the right pick and I think the ppg differential will be closer to 7-9. Brady is still capable of a 5000 yard season and 45+ TDs, if that's the case, the difference is obviously bigger.
-
Ya if td passes are worth the same amount as scoring a td then he's most def worth taking 7th. Fred Jackson should be a ppr beast!
That type of format gives Stafford a lot more value as well. -
Birds career was ended at least 4-5 years short because of severe back problems...but if they were making back then what they make now I bet he would have stuck it out for a few more seasons
-
stafford was the 10th overall pick i our draft and the 4th qb taken..little weird and surprising that 4 qbs went in the 1st round

Good stuff...class act. -
how the fuck do you know he ignored the kid? U read one article about it or some shit? That stuff isn't our business anyways it's not like he denied the kid or some shit.

I WANT links to a kid saying Larry Joe Bird ruined my life. And if that's the worst thing you can say about the guy it's pretty lol to say he's like a bad guy or something. Magic Johnson got hiv cheating on his wife we don't discredit all the good he's done since cuz he went a lil wild in the 80's or whatever.
even if true as if he's the only guy to ever not "be there emotionally" for his kid. Shit ask half the people on this board. If that's the worst u can say about him, then whatever. -
there are more articles about it if you search. but here is just one tidbit about the living hoops legend. class act i tell ya, he could learn about it from his daughter imo.

its one thing to make poor decisions and mistakes as a parent and learn from them. This dude pretty much ignored his daughter for 20 years.

High-profile white athletes have certainly had their share of paternity cases. Larry Bird is an out-of-wedlock father who has not sought a close relationship with his child. In 1975, after enrolling at Indiana State, Bird married his high school sweetheart, Janet Condra. They divorced on Oct. 31, 1976, but on Aug. 14, 1977, Janet gave birth to a daughter, Corrie. Initially Bird denied he was the father and rejected Janet's request for $40 a week in support. But he admitted paternity after a blood test and, before his rookie season with the Celtics, in 1979, agreed to set up an account from which monthly support checks could be drawn until Come turned 18.
Now a 20-year-old junior at Indiana State majoring in elementary education, Corrie is unmistakably her father's daughter, from her aquiline nose to her penetrating eyes to her sandy blonde hair. With prodding, she even confesses to having a reliable outside shot. But what she doesn't have, and what she has wanted for two decades, she says, is a relationship with Bird that goes beyond physical resemblance and financial support. "When I was younger, I would send him letters, and my mom would send him my school pictures and report cards," she says. "We would send them certified mail to make sure he received them, but he just didn't respond."
When Bird took the Pacers' coaching job last spring and moved just an hour from his daughter's apartment, Corrie was optimistic that their relationship would improve. "I went to see the Pacers play earlier this season, and I went down to talk to Dinah [Bird's wife of eight years] and see their kids. [He] looked over and saw me holding [Bird's daughter, five-year-old] Mariah, but he just kind of smiled awkwardly. I didn't get to talk to him, though."
Corrie grew up with the ability to separate Larry Bird the basketball player from Larry Bird the absent father. Her bedroom was a shrine to Bird, its walls covered with clippings, posters and Celtics memorabilia. (Even now, Corrie's black Ford bears a newly attached Pacers license-plate bracket.) When Corrie made the basketball team at Northview High in Brazil, Ind., her choice of uniform number 33 was an easy one. "It sounds corny, but it kind of made me feel closer to him when I played," she says. "I put one of his old high school jerseys in my gym bag as a good-luck charm."
Overlooking the high school graduation that Bird did not attend and all the times he was playing golf in Terre Haute but never made the 20-minute drive to see her, Corrie holds out hope of an ongoing relationship with her dad. "I've never gotten so mad that I haven't wanted to see him," she says.
Bird declined comment for this story. But on April 17 he visited with Corrie for the first time since taking over the Pacers. Dinah left a pair of tickets for Corrie and a friend to attend the Pacers' last home game of the regular season, and after the game Bird talked with Corrie. "I was really happy to go to the game," says Corrie. "Dad seemed interested in what I had to say. He walked me to my car, and he hugged me. I hope I can see more of him now." -

you fucking kidding me?
a mistake is something you do a few times and learn from.
larry was a non existent parent for 20 years. thats more a personality trait than a mistake.
a kid with an ex wife was not good enough for him but kids with his current wife were....thats how i read the situation -
Larry Bird is a bum as a father. Sorry AMART, but good player or not, he's a cockbag as a person.
Dirk is German, so he's a fucking bigger douche, but still...Larry Bird sucks at life. -
larry bird has always been a weird dude...i remember hearing some interviews from his teammates in boston and they said he never talked about anything other then basketball...like literally never talked about women, movies, music or anything other then basketball...
Edited By: Jsup Aug 31st, 2012 at 04:16 AM
his father also killed himself when larry was young so who knows how that has affected his personality...no one knows the exact situation with his kid...maybe he thought the women was trying to pin a kid on him as her lottery ticket, or maybe he knew the kid was his and hes a terrible person for neglecting her for her entire life
plenty of athletes/musicians are terrible people or do terrible things and people still love them...i have no idea what larry bird is like a person, if i had to guess though id say he fucked up royally with this situation and is a deadbeat dad...hes still my favorite basketball player of all time and he was a muuuuuuch better player in his prime then dirk could ever be imo
oh shit i just read that article that preston posted and it turns out she wasnt a random woman and he knew it was his kid but just decided to be a scumbag...thats fucked up...he still went in the locker room during a 3 pt contest and asked everyone with a serious face "whos coming in 2nd?" then he went on to easily win -
glad we have to bring in football and how the person is outside of sport itt. fuck you guys. red X
-
lol ur a joke sometimes pluv... So he wasn't the best father to one kid, cry me a fucking river... omg he was such a bad father he put me thru college and supported me financially his whole life but wasn't always there. Give me a fuckin break. Plenty of people didn't get a single penny from their father. Doesn't make him a bad person, tons of guys who have the same situation. Is it admirable? Nah not really, but it's not like he didn't do anything for the damn kid. Who knows what circumstances were affecting this shit, pretty unfair to just take the daughters or moms word for everything. fuck that article.

and fuck u kelly kip u think jason kidd is a good guy u hebitch modafucka -
oh ok. i was like 10 when bird retired so I didn't really know about injury stuff
-
whose the better father, Larry Bird or Karl Malone?
-
Besides being a bad father, Bird is a massive racist. He used to draft a white kid in the first round every single year when we was with the Pacers. His agenda was pretty obvious. After the brawl with the Pistons, he made it is personal mission to make the Pacers the whitest team in the league to ensure something like that wouldn't happen again.
