    Sucks to be a rags fan and lose out on the playoffs on the last game of the season for the 2nd straight year but at least you won't have to be embarassed by OV in the first round.

    Rangers just arent that good and have been playing above expectation for a bit now. I like the influx of young talent and am glad they didnt make any deals at the deadline to get rid of early twenties guys with high upside.

    They just dont have enough speed/scoring to be a legit contender this year. Maybe in the next two years if we get a(nother) dynamic offensive player.

    Let's go Rangers chant is exclusive to the hockey team. Anyone knows that. They don't deserve to be in playoffs. They would get wiped out anyway. Maybe this epic fail will finally rid the team of sather... Stellar year gaborik.

    Imagine his season if he actually produced for the first few months. I'm not even a devils fan or anything and I'm kind of excited to see what he and parise can do on that team over a full season. That's a sick-o 1, 2 punch.

    What's the highest point total that a team has had while still missing the playoffs? The Blackhawks have 97 points and might miss them and I'm wondering if that would be a record.

    unfortunately, sather isn't going anywhere.

    gaborik is turning out to be much worse than jagr.

    they definately have 0 chance at winning a playoff series if they get in. hank is way too tired to carry the team like he has.

    if it wasn't for thomas hank should would easily win the vezina. thomas has way too sick numbers

    Don't know why everyone is down so hard on the Rangers tbh. The only reason they aren't in already is because Buffalo (7-1-2) LOL and Carolina (8-1-1) LOL are on insane hot streaks right now, I mean the Rangers are 6-3-1 in their last 10, very good and certainly not backing in by any means..I went to Flyers-Rangers game early in the year and could barely recognize anyone outside of Lundquist.

    The captain was awful anyway. The games they won late were mostly due to henrik.

    I was more referring to the fact people were trashing them like their horrible and were collapsing to end the year, given how young they are and lack of playmaker I think they've had a solid year, just blows the Canes and Sabres got white hot to close the year.

    so glad to see this thread on p5s today. it's hard explaining the appeal of playoff hockey to people in vegas.

    personally i think there are a lot of young kids on this ranger team that are going to explode together next season: boyle, christensen, dubs, callahan, prust, stepan, gilroy and wolski are all showing lots of heart and effort the past two months and are really coming up big, scoring-wise. these guys are the future of the team and not the aging underperformers like gaborik. you can tell by how much ice-time they're all getting that tortorella thinks the same thing.

    the rangers biggest problem this year has definitely been injuries - they're having such a hard time staying healthy. and now that callahan's hurt again and likely to miss the playoffs it makes this year that much more of a bust.

    TL;DR: hope the rangers get in today, don't love their playoff chances, but next year's gonna be epiiiiic.
