this, and the thread can stop right here
  12. Some teams are real obvious like the Bears, Cowboys, Texans in terms of putting in a claim.

My long shot waiver claim will be the Titans, so that the Texans will have to roll with the rookie QB Yates and the recently signed off the street Jake LOL Delhomme.

finally a good and smart answer

thats why i think the lions should put a claim, to block the bears, have someone with playoff exp and its not like their QB is known for being an iron man

It's not a very smart answer...the Texans don't even have the cap space to put in a claim on McNabb...and have also already said they won't.

The Bears are 24th on the waiver list right now...so apparently it will be Dallas.

  15. the only reason the lions would pick up a new qb is to send to suhs house so he can get his necessary weekly head crushing quota fulfilled
  16. LOL at the responses ITT

  20. I think Dallas will pass, just doesn't make sense for them. He's not going to be Romo's backup if they sign him and I think it will just create chemistry problems because McNabb wouldn't be happy.

Let the Bears have him, he's sucked for 2 years anyway.

Doubt he starts wherever he gets picked up, if he does.

  21. Dallas put a claim on Orton to block the Bears, they will do the same here and just have McNabb chill in Jerry's suite.

Bear repeat from last year when we took over Jerry's World, this time it will end the boys season

  22. Dallas put in a claim for Orton because he played in a similar system and has value, not to block him from the Bears. It doesn't make sense to claim a washed-up player to prevent another team from getting him... I really, really don't see the Cowboys making this claim.

  23. Res is right about this one.

  24. Is he better then Hanie? As a Chicago fan, should you want the Bears to claim him after two pretty good QB coaches basically said that he wasn't good enough to start for the Eagles or Redskins? He's been passed over for Ponder and Grossman.

I say no one claims him
  25. Hey guys, I'm Donovan McNabb, uh, I play quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, and I'm here to tell you you can too if you start every day with a hearty breakfast from McDonalds. like the new sausage egg McGriddle value meal, available now for a limited time for under five dollars. remember guys real champs eat at McDonalds. I'm lovin it.
  26. probably the boys but hopefully he never snaps a down in our jersey
  27. Raiders sfobv

    nevermind, Al Davis is dead
  28. Ship him to the CFL...he's done playing real football.

  29. After how bad he's been lately does that mean Rush Limbaugh is no longer a racist for saying how overrated he was? Was his commentary really that far off the mark?

    Actual quote:

"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go," Limbaugh said. "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

The NFL does have a vested interest in seeing hyphenated-Americans in HC & QB positions, it's not even a subtle interest (see also: Rooney Rule)

Reason: real answer: He goes back the the Eagles and doesn't do much better than Young, but it's time to mend those fences.
  30. If the NFL is so desirous of black QBs succeeding, then why does Mike Vick get perpetually punked by officials?

Rooney Rule is for coaches only - it's about focusing on making the elite ownership of the NFL look beyond their initial inclinations to help ensure that black coaches are getting fair consideration. Whether the NFL wants black coaches is independent of the Rooney Rule and it doesn't seem like there is any effort being made toward that.

What Rush said about McNabb being overrated wasn't so bad, per se... it was more of the blunt way in which he said it, i.e. you can't say things as a commentator like he does on his radio show.
