  1. Me and my buddy wrote a song, and he rapped it and another buddy sings on it. It is a song about Christ so if you don't believe in God that is fine. Any feedback on the flow, beat, lyrics, any feedback you have would be appreciated. I have friends who don't believe in God and they relate to the song, Anything is appreciated so I ask you to just take a listen. If not thats fine. (would prefer this not to turn into a debate thread about wether there is a God or not but that is outta my control) I come to OT cause you guys are the harshest critics i know. Don't hold anything back. Anything is appreciated

    Here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/user/givinproductions

Really appreciate it to anyone who listens to it!! Subscribe if you like it. Video embedded in post

  4. Pretty solid. I liked some parts a lot and some not so much, but overall I liked it.

  8. i like christian rap, its very uplifting. Not like those real musicians with their complicated shoes.
  9. was going to listen until I saw rap and christ in same sentence, then see its not embedded

edit listened to 6 seconds, sounded fine in terms of music, simply wont comment on lyrics/rapping ability

  16. The "Casio Clap" throughout the song could be toned down or replaced/mixed up, not bad overall. With that said:

  17. It sounds more "complete" than pgh's in terms of production value, but that doesn't really take much and I don't like it at all. The "flow" sounds whiny, the delivery is shit, the music is simultaneously boring and annoying, and I won't comment on the lyrics because a Christian rap song is about as likely to have decent lyrics as slugger is to give a fuck what the thread is about (slugger, please don't change).

To be fair, I didn't really like pgh's either, but I didn't feel like typing out a long response at the time so I responded honestly letting him know which version I preferred over the other. But now that he's posting bits of new lyrics all over the place and we have these other fucking "up and coming" rappers cropping up again, I think I should just go ahead and put this out there: if you are thinking about starting one of these threads, don't. Please don't. You suck at rap. You might be halfway decent, but really nobody but your friends really want to hear that halfway decent shit. Please commence to posting your talent in the Not Quite Threadworthy thread.

    No offense
  18. Made it 1:30. Man that's a whiny song with way too much of that Casio clap.
  19. thanks for the comments. And if you don't mind, what you mean by whiny. You talking bout the lyrics or the sound??

oh and it doesn't matter if the rap sucks. as long as people listen and if one person gets our message than its all worth it. I'm gonna keep posting these threads for our songs lol. Harsh criticism is how you get better at stuff you do

Again i really appreciate everyone who took the time to listen and comment!!

  26. Ok, but only because you asked for real criticism, otherwise I would have withheld my opinion.

Lyrics are terribad, rapping is whiny, chorus is monotonous, and the little high-pitched synth sounds and clapping are super cheesy sounding.

    LOLRELIGION.

On the positive side, I think you and your friends do have some potential, and the production isn't completely awful.
  27. I don't think it was ever in God's plan for you to be a rapper, just saying.
  28. Probably not the best to offer an opinion, because I am not a fan of rap, but I liked the lyrics and appreciate what you're trying to do. Best wishes :)
  29. not trying to be a rapper. Just having fun and making music about what i know.
