  1. I've never heard of anyone tying cats outside on a leash with this whole rope setup deal you've got going. The cat was prolly so humiliated and embarrassed that it gathered said rope and tried to fashion a noose( obv resulted in a failed suicide attempt). Did you happen to find maybe 1/2 of the rope near a tree or anything by chance?

Plus, aren't cats either "indoor cats" or "wander the fuck around wherever cats"? Seriously, this whole rope-harness-leash set up you had going- it sounds like some crazy idea that only a crackhead would come up with.

    Oh, wait.....
  2. To prove the validity of this 30 story rope, you should bungee off a 32.....nevermind, I don't want you to actually do this

    Damn, that's a long rope

  3. Whats all this talk about rope? I like rope.
  4. After sleeping on it for several hours, I have decided that the rope played a pretty significant role in your cat's disappearance. Too long, too weak, too heavy and too dirty. Please don't even think about using that rope to restrain your dog.
  5. Congratulations on this extraordinary reunion. Unlikely coincidences like this are some of the most interesting things to happen to people. It's so incredible, you wonder if there really is something special about reality beyond random cause and effect.
  6. Did you have to train the cat to not chew the rope? I know 100% if I tried roping my dog he would chew through it within minutes and be free. What tricks do you have to avoid this if I decide to go the rope route?
  7. i have a friend who is an expert on ropes. do you mind if i call him and he can take a look at it?

Ok - serious reply: I def believe things happen for a reason - the set of circumstances that had to take place for this reunion to occur really is incredible if you think about it - glad OP found his cat :)

Now back to your previously scheduled derailment...

Thank you very much, its fate and destiny for me and this cat to be together, there simply isnt another explination. the probability of me and this cat being in the same vet at the same time after all these years is like a kajillion to 1

The cat DID NOT chew the fucking rope. She actually liked the rope, she would play with it and kick at it with her feet and chase it.

There is no way the rope is unchewed. I don't know how much rope repairmen cost but I would deduct that from your offer
  13. wish the cat woulda been run over
  14. wow really great post, thank you for taking the time to type that out, we can all rest easy now that we have your opinion on the matter

  15. Where are the pics of the rope.
  16. Insert neopoleon dynomite doll on string out the window of the bus vid.
  17. what kind of knot did you use to secure the rope on both ends? are you now or have you ever been a boy scout?
  18. How much was said rope?
  19. Has OP discussed the type of knots he used to tie the rope?

    Edit: Damn, you Galt.

  20. I used a simple knot (tying)

i was a deckhand on a ferry so I spent time at sea, and Im very good at tying knots

the tying knot was great, because I could move about the location of the rope in a snap, wether it be to a stake I had in the ground, or to the clothes line, and it would be secure enough that I felt confident my cat couldnt break free.

  21. What does indoor outdoor cat mean? I thought it was one or another. Was your cat like Eddie Haskel? He would be really nice and sweet in the house but then smoke cigarettes and throw rocks at cars when outside. Did he use the rope to choke other cats outside until they gave up their lunch money?
  22. i know this thread is about ropes, but i feel like derailing for a second cause i had a very similar experience growing up... had 2 jack russel terriers, one day our house burned down, one of them got out fine, the other had to get rescued by paramedics and taken to a vet, it was all but dead on the way but the vet pulled a miracle... there was a lot of publicity about it and apparently the vet's office took off partly due to that, so he kept in touch with my family and knew the dog well

about a year later, some crazy old lady stole the dogs from my yard. 8 months went by and then she shows up at the vet with one of them (the cool one), he grabs the dog from her and calls the cops, she gets away but it was pretty sick to get him back out of the blue... it was also really cool how excited he was to be home, he didnt quit sprinting around the house for days

ok that has nothing to do with this thread
  23. What kind of fence was in your yard??.....?????......

what kinda rope did you use that didn't get tangled when he sprinted around the house for days? had to be a long mf-ing rope and high quality, like empire state building long.
  27. Wait, so this cat climbed a rope in gym class, got lost in the ceiling for 2 years, and then the gym teacher adopted it and eventually returned it to the principal's office where OP was waiting for a parent/teacher conference? How fast did the cat climb the rope?
  28. I've seen the rope in question first hand, and while I have played a little golf in my time, I would doubt that it was as long as 100 yards. I'd say 1.5 football fields was probably more accurate.

Congrats on getting the cat back though.
  29. i think u need to let your cat roam around on the rope again. i bet she misses it like crazy.
  30. Why the fuck would you install a doggy door for a cat you fucking moran?!?!?!
