your 'powerhouse' just got completely outworked at home by a team missing 2 of its best 6 players. get on our level.
-
Isnt it a well known fact that the "powerhouse" of the Big Ten is Michigan State...followed closely by Indiana??
Ohhh and North Carolina got beat by Maryland. Shit happens. -
Wisco already played? Thought the game was at 3
-
As a huge Big Ten fan, this loss disgusts me. BTW, for all the IU fans: I told ya so. GG any B10 teams on the bubble. Losing to a middle-of-the-pack Big East team missing 2 of its top 6 players on your home floor. FUCK
-
Michigan State definitely best team in Big Ten. Indiana's good too but their best player is a super frosh and sometimes frosh can struggle with consistency. They'll be a force in the tournament as well. Rest of the Big Ten does suck ass though w/ Wisco a team that may lack a little in talent this year but more than makes up for it w/ coaching and recruiting hardworking, good basketball players who play together.
-
lol indiana deserves to get laughed at.
they looked soooo bad.
this has nothing to do with big ten bball in general though. i am pretty sure they have and will always be a power house conference. remember, the big ten has 11 teams compared to 12-16 in the other conferences. it makes a huge difference when it comes to how many good teams you have in your conference. -
so right jroth, pathetic performance by IU. they looked like a buncha hoodrats running around and jacking up HORID shots all over the court without even thinking about passing.
worst coaching performance i have seen in a long long time (and we had mike davis as our coach for the past few years if that tells you anything). know one at IU wanted calvin as our head coach and everyone has hated him since day 1. this isnt the right place for his bad coaching and shady ass recruiting methods. GTFO samspon. we shouldve got homer drew dammit lol -
^^ agreed that it starts from the top. sampson is a scumbag...
-
This thread is completely worthless.
Indiana had a completely off night. All teams have off nights on occasion. That is why UNC got beat by Maryland, Memphis will lose to a shit team in C-USA, and Kansas will get beat by a Texas Tech or Kansas State.
I am NOT a fan of Indiana but come on....Indiana wins that game 8 times out of 10.
Get on your level? The Big East isnt that great either. They have two good teams and then a bunch of mediocre teams that will beat up on each other for the rest of the season. -
the point is, all of our mediocre teams would be at the top of the big 10. syracuse is in 13th place in our conference. lol.
-
How many off games can Indiana have?? I said something after the Illinois game about how awful they looked when somebody long and lean guarded Gordon and took him off his game. "Oh, it was just an off night...they'll be fine." They obviously aren't...
-
^^^^^^^^^ this is the most retarded statement ever.
Please watch college basketball -
lol STFU RC.
you sound like a f*ckin moron right now.
i am pretty sure roy hibbert had to hit a last second 3POINT shot against UConn to beat them. so your mediocre teams will be beating up on your top teams too.
its college basketball, it happens. its one game, enjoy it. but dont come on here sounding like a f*ckin noob because uconn wins a game against a team that played their worst game of the season -
I am not saying that Indiana is some amazing final four calibre team.
They are good...not great. If they go on a nice run in the tourney they could see the Elite 8 but probably not more than that.
But to say that UConn is a better team overall is retarded.
And to say that UConn beating Indiana somehow elevates the Big East to some higher level than the Big 10 is even more retarded. -
uconn beating indiana does not elevate the big east to a higher level. the big east has always been at a higher level.
-
Maybe it is because the ACC is the best conference in college basketball year in and year out.
Maybe there is a reason they asked the Big 10 to play instead of the Big East...they wanted competition. -
indiana just doesnt understand the basics of bball. to have this much talent and lose at home against this uconn team is unacceptable. it was the worst coaching performance i have ever seen at IU. they didnt do anything right all game, they didnt play hard, they didnt even really seem to care.
IMO this is 100% on the coach. IU wouldve spanked UConn if they wouldve had any sort of game plan. jim calhoun just owned calvin samspon. calvin is a great recruiter, but if you cant even teach the players simple screens, passes, backdoors and (the best one IMO) to NOT HAVE F*CKING 4 GUYS ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE COURT WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING AN OFFENSIVE PLAY!!! they look like a damn middle school team out there, and a bad middle school team at that. they have no idea what spacing the floor means, its such a sad site. -
lol lol lol lol...ill respond to this right after i get done laughing. it might be awhile though hahahahahahahha
-
You are a complete college basketball noob.
I would take Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan State over any three Big East teams anyday of the week and wouldnt look back.
EDIT: This year I would. I am not saying every year. -
I agree with you saulkis...just saying. I could see them being a 2nd round exit as well. UConn's win didn't do much for the Big East (unless UConn is on the bubble), but it hurts the Big Ten's view as a conference in the big picture. That loss may have screwed tOSU, Purdue, Minnesota, etc. because of conference RPI.
-
yeah, the ACC has been the powerhouse for the past 10 years. UNC and Duke are ALWAYS final four material. no one will argue with that. but i thought you were talking about the big east. isnt notre dame ranked like #2 in the big east right now? lol lol lol
-
or maybe its because the acc and big ten have a similar number of teams, while the big east has 5 more teams than the big ten. all of whom would be in the top half of your conference. nice try though.
-
Agree
I could definitely see Indiana making an early exit.
Then again I could see them going deep too.
Just all depends on which Indiana team comes to play. -
the point is that on a neutral court you could pick 3 teams out of ahat from the big east, and they would break even against IU wisconsin and MSU. anyways we need some nonbiased fans in here.
-
syracuse is #13 out of 16 teams lol. the big east has 16 teams, 16 teams! they better at least have 3 or 4 teams that can play. syracuse sucks this year too...pretty easy to see why they are ranked #13

It's amazing to me that people really pay close attention to College Basketball. I mean, there are like hundreds of different teams and nearly all the players will never make it to the NBA, so I know I couldn't watch the games closely. Don't get me wrong either, I love hoops. I bet on the NBA nightly and I watch every Cavaliers game along with a few other TNT or ESPN games throughout the week. So how do you all do it? To watch college ball I'd either have to 1) Increase my basketball viewing at the expense of something else I do for fun (bars, reading, sex, drugs, rocknroll); 2) Begin betting on the NCAA and turn into a total degen sweating games like Canisius vs Fairfield.
It's loony. -
that makes no sense. they only play like 5 or 6 games in the B10/ACC challenge, why would it matter how many teams are in the conference?
the reason the ACC and B10 play is because no one wants to see UNC spank up on f*cking notre game lol lol.
dude, you honestly sound so ignorant right now its a joke. just stop posting about basketball, my side is starting to hurt from laughing at ur threads. -
ACC/Big Ten Challenge started in 1999.....when the Big East had the exact same number of teams as the other two conferences.
Big East didnt expand until 2005.....n00b -
I am completely unbiased.
I root for the Missouri Valley not the Big Ten.
You are just an idiot
