I have nothing against Bruce Pearl at all...I think he's a great guy. I've met him on multiple occasions, and think he's a blast. Ask tmac.

That still doesn't excuse the fact that Tennessee should never lose to Oakland at home. Like I said, if you have to defend that loss with your life, your program is not in good shape. -

We lost to two teams last year with RPI's well below 100 and still made the Elite 8. It's December.
lol dude he's a Big 10 basketball guy......they're not relevant lately......Tennessee will be fine this year......Sweet 16 at the worst -
Just as an FYI, you should probably read up on the situation before you comment.
Illinois' probation had zero to do with the Deon Thomas situation that they were reported for. The NCAA came in and sniffed around enough to find other violations. -
lolol...might want to check conference RPI ratings for the last couple of years.

Reason: really dont know the story that well...obv -
Elite teams do lose to RPI teams 50-75. Happens every year.
-
I know it had zero to do with Deon Thomas, but it was Pearl who got the investigation going to where the NCAA found other violations.
-
Yes, and I don't hold it against Pearl at all...he was a wet-behind-the-ears coach getting into the game. Probably did just want Dr. Tom wanted him to do.

Don't get me wrong, he was probably the biggest cheater in D2 while he was at USI. But one of my asst. coaches was a very good friend of his and told me all kinds of great partying stories about him. Couple that with the fact that I think he's a good guy from meeting him, and I honestly have nothing against him.
I know I'm in the vast minority of Illini fans, but it is what it is.
He's 100% a slimeball when it comes to bball/recruiting...even you know that. But 90% of D1 coaches are. -
I totally agree, even that saint down at Baylor falls into this group, but they won't admit it. You have to bend the rules in this day and age or you won't succeed, period.

Edited By: watson5j Dec 18th, 2010 at 07:12 AMso you are saying past years but using this year as to what you were referring too? well this year we got 4 teams right now in the top 20, big 10 has 2...so maybe pick another "couple" years?Originally Posted by JRoth15

SEC is waaaaay down the past few years..that's pretty well known.
oh and please excuse auburn...we allowed Cam to play so we said they have to forfeit their basketball season...
322 Auburn 2-6 0.3670 276 0.4417
Reason: lol auburn -
Fenway...you know I love Duke...but he got Austin Rivers to decommitt from UF to go there.....Had to bend the rules a tad. Cant wait to see that dude next year. Rivers, Irving(hopefully), Dawkins, Curry, 3 Plumlees.....sick team.
-
lol you're not smart.

MSU won in 2000, IU was runner up in 2002, Illinois was runner up in 2005, Ohio St. runner up in 2007 and MSU in 2009.
Big Ten is arguably the best conference this year and will be in the top 2 for the next number of years. They are stock piling talent.
Again, stop embarrassing yourself -
Yeah, Irving won't be there. You can take that to the bank.
