Willing to spend ~$1500 (can do a little more but would prefer to spend less) on dual monitors and a desktop. Would like at least 21" monitors.
Any advice/help? thanks
been looking at monitors and so far this ones looking like the lead

I bought two dell 24" monitors and a matrox dualhead2go for under $600 total. You can do it and get even better quality eaaaaasily with your budget.
-
ive been looking at 25"+ monitors and the biggest issue i see is base stability, is there anything to do (other than mounting) about this? / does anyone have a good experience with any?
-
I have 2 Samsung T260s and they have solid bases. One doubles as the TV in my bedroom.
-
I think I saw 23" samsung monitors on sale for $130 on bradsdeals.com... desktop with video card $500-600 should be plenty for what you need.
-
I used dual monitors for a while, but the last couple yrs Ive been using a 52" lcd. Its def worth waiting to save up a bit more..

You don't need "good" monitors for poker, you just need monitors that are cheap, have high resolution and won't break any faster than other monitors. You don't need super accurate colors and great contrast to tell what the cards are. Same thing goes for the GFX card. Poker is 2D graphics that doesn't take advantage of any accelration a graphics card might offer, so you just need it to support two monitors.
You can get 24" monitors for less than $200 each and a dual head gfx card (isn't every card dual head these days?) for less than $100, that will be good enough. That will give you more than good enough quality.
That leaves $1000 for a computer, and that is way more than you need, at least for just poker and regular sufing/word whatever. What you do is spend around $800 on a computer, and then switch out one of the monitors for one with good picture, maybe one with a TV tuner or whatever, so you can use that for video/TV when you're only playing on one screen. If you want to play somewhat new games (with 3D graphics and stuff), you also need to spend an extra hundo or two on the graphics card. -
Didn't read everyone's posts. I actually found 2 deals within 3 months on Gizmodo.com for the Gadget Deals of the Day. Bought a little Dell Desktop Vostro 220S I believe both times, was like $385 with shipping, but came with a free Samsung 23" LCD 1080p monitor when you entered a discount code. I turned around, sold the computers for $300 each, so paid less than $100 each for the brand new monitors. You can catch good deals like this, just have to watch for them. You can build a hell of a desktop for $700 anymore, so it shouldn't be a problem getting what you want honestly with 23' monitors.

wtf is up with that TV though?

I have no idea if you are serious or if there really was a recent Nelson Mandella special, but I honestly thought that is who was on the screen.
It looks like a TV in a hospital room or something, especially with that bad bracket. -
LOL @ you guys, cracking me up with those nelson mandela comments! no the system has dual video cards (EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX260's) for a total of 4 DVI outs , so basically u can have 4 displays hooked up..as far as the TV it was a random episode of divorce court LOL..i was messing with the ole ladies digi-cam settings trying to see what works best for indoors..the TV is 20yrs old but it still gets a great picture esp with verizon fios..ive been meaning to upgrade to some flat panel LCDs in the apt, but those have been tough sales to the girl because these old school ones we have still work great...if anyone needs any help wiring or setting up extended desktops hit me with a PM id me more than happy to try and assist yall!
