  1. I've read the book Battle Royale, and thought it was great, very exciting, although the movie had a LOT of room for improvement imo, and wasn't nearly as good as the book.

I've never read Lord of the Flies, but I saw the shitty 1990 remake of the movie adaptation, which from what I understand was pretty far off from the book, and did a horrible, or even non-existant job of portraying the more crucial elements of the book, which I think is supposed to be very good.

So has anyone here read Lord of the Flies? Was it good? From what I understand it is much deeper than Battle Royale, which was simply a thrill-ride and not much more, and didn't do anything to make statements about what makes governments work, or fail miserably, and so forth. So that already makes it sound a lot more fun than Battle Royale, but how was it written? Is it exciting, or is it done in super boring fashion, or what?
  2. Sucks to your assmar.

  3. funny you bring this up, i ordered the original version (Lord of the Flies) off of Amazon and just recieved it last Friday. Great story as i remember it when i read it.. Agree that the remake was horrible, and didnt follow the storyline as originally told.
