I've read the book Battle Royale, and thought it was great, very exciting, although the movie had a LOT of room for improvement imo, and wasn't nearly as good as the book.
I've never read Lord of the Flies, but I saw the shitty 1990 remake of the movie adaptation, which from what I understand was pretty far off from the book, and did a horrible, or even non-existant job of portraying the more crucial elements of the book, which I think is supposed to be very good.
So has anyone here read Lord of the Flies? Was it good? From what I understand it is much deeper than Battle Royale, which was simply a thrill-ride and not much more, and didn't do anything to make statements about what makes governments work, or fail miserably, and so forth. So that already makes it sound a lot more fun than Battle Royale, but how was it written? Is it exciting, or is it done in super boring fashion, or what? -
funny you bring this up, i ordered the original version (Lord of the Flies) off of Amazon and just recieved it last Friday. Great story as i remember it when i read it.. Agree that the remake was horrible, and didnt follow the storyline as originally told.
