    Louis C.K. is releasing his Live at the Beacon Theater special today in a cool way. He's selling it for $5 online, after you pay you can stream it or download it. He paid for the production and everything himself, he didn't want to have to go through anyone else for recording/releasing so he could make as cheap and accessible as possible.

    And yeah, it's good.

    why do you want to steal from artists? I'd rather encourage people to sell me their work directly and dodge the middle man, louis can control the product and its distribution, such a win-win.

    He got my $5 too. Him releasing it without any DRM or restrictions is awesome. I'm a big fan of artists releasing their materials in this manner. For me, a lot of the appeal of piracy is convenience, when you release things at very reasonable prices with no bullshit or hoops to jump through I'm much more inclined to pay.

    That was really good. Also, a little different from his previous stuff, which had me feeling sour about it towards the beginning but by the end I totally bought in. Will def watch again.

    Bought this a few days back and for $5 this is a no brainer. I also agree with the person earlier that this could revolutionize the way artists release their work. Just imagine bands releasing full mp3 albums like this for $5 instead of the shitty $15 or whatever it costs to go through the channels when using the middlemen.

    I hope a lot more artists do this in the future. It's a win-win for everyone as I'm sure Louis CK is getting a much bigger cut than he would have if he went through the standard channels of distribution.

    i very likely would not have bought it if it was on some other kind of platform or way to purchase. I would not go through itunes or buy it on dvd, so this hooked me and i wish many more things were that easy. I DEF wouldnt torrent as much music and such thats for sure
