I agree 100%. Nadal has yet to win a major on hard court and Federer is playing too good to be beaten.

As someone who has been playing competitive tennis for a really long time, I can tell you this is not a good bet. Yes, Nadal is coming off a brutally physical match with Verdasco, but he is also the ultimate warrior in men's tennis. There is also the fact that he owns Federer(12-6 lifetime) and that the court at the Australian Open favors him more than a lot of people think it does.(the bounce at the Australian Open is more like clay- slower and higher than the typical US hard court) Also, people should not buy into Federer's last two blowout victories-both Roddick and Del Potro are slow baseline power hitters, which basically just plays right into Federer's hands. Nadal is, far and away, the best athlete in men's tennis and he is not going to give Federer an inch on Sunday. I'm rooting for Fed to tie Sampras' record, but he is going to need a Herculean effort again to defeat Nadal.

9-1 on clay....so the record is a bit off there as Nadal is the best clay courter ever!

Nadal is fit as fuck...he won't be tired unless the match goes to 5 sets which I don't think it will...Nadal's got amazing defense and the ability to score at will...but not against Federer on hardcourt.

This is a lock imo...I think Federer wins a close match 4 sets

3-2 record for Federer on harcourts but their last match was in 2007 which Federer won quite easily so don't really pay too much attention to that...

I use the fact hat Federer has won 8 total hard court Grand Slams to Nadals 0 actually this is his first hardcourt final in his career...

So on that basis I agree with the Federer lock.

This definately looks like a nice line for federer but who knows, I'll bite.

Ohhh and coming from someone who played competitive tennis (college and whatnot) I seriously think Nadal could have taken an hr rest and came out and played Federer competitively, maybe even winning.

As someone said above, Australian is like a normal hardcourt. It isnt quite as fast and the ball bounces more like a clay court. Nadal is too fit to let little rest get in his way and he seriously owns Federer. Their rivalry is unreal though. Sooo fun to watch.

You obviously did not watch Nadal/Verdasco to be saying this. You obviously have not listened or watched Nadal interviews, either.

Nadal is all but conceding this match in his interviews. He agrees that his body is totally drained and that it'll take a minor miracle for him to run with a rested Federer that hasn't been challenged at all lately.

Nadal might be the most fit athlete in tennis, but after his match with Verdasco (unreal match btw, anyone that didn't watch this and likes tennis needs to see it), he's not going to be nearly as physically able as Federer in this match.

I don't bet sports all too often (football, basketball etc), but I do bet the horses and see "locks" lose regularly. Lets try and base locks on things that the whole fuckin public doesn't know already. Lets try to scrape up some inside info. Any clown can stare at a line and a newspaper and think they are getting value.
