Depending on your monitor setup ,you'll need some sort of adapter.
The Macbook (and most new macs) use the mini-DVI connector, which means you gotta spend 20-30 bucks on a "Mini-DVI to VGA" or "mini-DVI to DVI" cable to get it to work. You can get these at any mac store or on the mac website.
