So i was hesitant to see this movie when my cousin invited me last night but i had nothing else to do so i went and thought it was fucking hysterical.i was in tears for almost 2 straight hours thought it was the best dumb 1 liner comedy i had seen in a year or 2. It got like a 57 % on rotten tomatoes which is semi-respectable for a movie as dumb as macgruber...anybody else see it besides me??
-
Based on how much money it took in maybe 1 or 2 other people on this forum saw it
-
I have been hesitant as well, but everyone I have talked too has thought it was hysterical. Maybe I'll have to go check it ourt for myself.
-
Movie was unreal, fackin hilarious
-
good god no
-
Prob the best SNL movie ever by far
-
Havent had the chance yet, but I'm going to see it soon.
-
It finished 6th and brought in 4 million dollars for the (opening) weekend. Huge flop so far

plan on seeing it, looks <strike>good</strike> hilarious

I'll probably check it out once it lands on DVD. The skits on SNL are fucking hilarious.
You must see the skit with Charles Barkley in it. Pure 24 karat gold. -
Kinda sick that its budget was only $10m, so it should do fine in the long run I'd think. It seems like one of those movies that may have to rely on word of mouth due to how stupid it looks.

agree, but i expect to be terrible and hilarious, while some comedies are good movies and hilarious.

Why are people supporting this movie? Who thought this would be funny? My brother grew up and was obsessed with the 80's and basically he said the same thing " these jokes were done every other day when Macgyver was on and were so played out that they killed it 30 years ago". Why is this a fresh new idea now? I can't hate on the movie since I haven't seen it, but wasn't the joke old 30 years ago?

grew up and was obsessed with the 80s
huh?
you mean he grew up in the 80s, and liked current topics?
uh anyways, i used to watch macguyver like every day and I dont recall a spoof movie being made about it, cant say i remember too many one-liners I heard 15 years ago either other than the same ones they make now about his hair and fixing a plane with a soggy sandwich type stuff. -
I saw the previews on tv and thought this looked terrible but after seeing it in theaters it was pretty hysterical - its funny as hell and i think every1 would enjoy it....its nothing like the terrible snl macgrueber skits they do so dont think its gonna be like that...they defintiely hit a homerun with this 1
-
Nope. If I had I would have given my opinion on it.
Edit: My statement about the Wayne's World thing is simply pointing out that basically EVERY movie SNL skits have inspired sucked hardcore except for Blues Brothers and Wayne's World. So saying it is "the best since Wayne's World" really isn't much of a recommendation in my mind.
They made a movie about Pat ffs... -
I liked Night at the Roxbury and the Ladies' Man.
-
are you going strictly off skits? Because tommy boy was pretty fucking good
-
coneheads was pretty funny too
-
Im sure its hilarious like its counterpart Hot Rod
