EDIT: lolol Harry is the definition of dweeb.

thats because he knew there was no chance of keeping the account, Lee (i think thats his name) told him in person before it came out that lucky strike was leaving scdp, roger tried to convince him to stay but couldnt and could only persuade him to keep it quiet for a while, while roger got things together, this is when roger did absolutely nothing

Love Mad Men, one of my favorite shows and i can't wait for s5 - but come on. GoT will be the nuts when the show is finished as far as best tv show is concerned. I watched s1 then went out and got the books which i started about a month ago. just finished the 4th last night and am starting the 5th right now. it is an amazing read, well worth the commitment.

  5. First of let me say I love this show, it is my favorite of all time, but watching this episode was very awkward for me. Everything is just felt anxious about, the want ad backfiring, Peggy and the beans, Don at the party, the baby at the office, the cabbie seeking revenge. I don't know if it was me or if it was because it had been so long since watching the show, but I almost couldn't take two hours of it. I felt like one hour would not have been so bad. I still liked it, thought it was a hilarious episode, but I just hope either I get my shit together or this was just a one episode thing.

  7. Yea, the whole dance, that was a very awkward scene how long it went on, how embarrassing it was for Don. I've got it on again, and even these scenes with Joan are hard to watch with the conflict with her mom. I guess they might just be setting up story lines for the seasons. I mean I remember feeling this way during other episodes, it just felt like everything in the episode made me feel like I was walking on egg shells. I guess I might just be a nut bag though.

  8. i wasnt a fan of the joan/mom scenes either. i think they just want to show joan and they can't have her there without someone to have dialogue with.

that's how youre supposed to feel during the dance scene! i thought it was great. ive got zubee zubee zooo in my head now.

the harry getting caught by megan was quite ridiculous though. funny but I didnt like it. & you cant lose weight when youre locked in as a character. it's irresponsible

yeah, but wasn't Don and Bert volunteering to go down? From what I've seen, Don can talk nearly anyone into anything. He was volunteering to go down and Roger said no ill do it. Atleast this is what I remember, I could be wrong.
  13. zooby zooby zoo. zooby zooby zoooo....gonna be on loop in my mind for much longer than I'd like.

-Crane is a bonafide creeper at this point(is he supposed to be a caricature of what a lot of early TV men were like?)
-A bit deflating to see Pete on the train to the City. Guy is not meant for the 'burbs.
-The shot of Don not getting couch space during the partner's meeting in Pete's office was great.
-The cabbie scam went completely over my head.
-Pretty standard for a "catch up" episode. Being 2 hours, felt a bit lazy(by mad men standards) here and there, but no real complaints.
  14. just watched it on dvr this morning. loved it, any episode w/o betty is a good one for me.

i was hoping for some new fine secretaries for Don and Roger to bang.

  20. when i watched it i just assumed it was lane being racist

    i didn't think it was a scam.

(or is the scam that the person who came and picked it up wasn't the guy whose wallet it was?)

I didnt see it as a scam either but maybe i just missed it. This brings up another question I just thought of-- do you think Lane will try to hire one of the black chicks as a secretary since he has a fondness for the dark meat?

    of course!

  23. i hope so, that wife of his is a cunt. doubt don and roger will let it happen though.
  24. Roger lost Lucky Strike, that was his only purpose to SCDP. Now he is like an over the hill athlete trying to make a comeback and still be relevant but he isn't. He is a miserable prick, he was happy for about 5 minutes with Jane but that wore off and now he is just a drunk with a bad heart. He will die soon, hopefully.

I had some great laughs, Pete sending Roger to Stanton Island, Roger saying, "there is my baby, now move that brat out of my way" was great then he holds the baby with a cig in his mouth, just awesome and Crane putting his whole leg in his mouth was gold.

I thought the scenes with Joan were great, she needs to be important at the office to be at her best and motherhood has weakened her. She is that chick that lives her life like a strong man, she is confident, a player, and tough when she needs to be, this season will be her trying to balance who she was and who she is now with the baby.

They did a great job of leading us to think that the honeymoon was over between Don and Megan only to show us they are so much better for each other than Don and Betty ever were. She wants to make him happy where Betty was like having another child as much as a wife. Don might make some mistakes, slip fall and land in some strange but he loves her more than he ever loved Betty and they will stick with each other through up's and downs.

Excited to see how Lane handles his $ problems, which were heavily implied and foreshadowed. Also where they go with the Chick he talked to on the phone and the pic he took for his wallet.

I disagree. I thought it was a fantastic episode, and it was a pretty classic Pete moment. But maybe I just liked a fat Betty.

I dont like seeing Betty fat, such a waste of talent.

did she really gain all that weight or is it a suit? b/c it looks pretty realistic
  29. she was pregnant during the filming so they wrote that in...supposedly there's much less screen time for her this season in general too

at any rate, decent episode, not a classic by any means but shows like Mad Men always have episodes like this, especially early in the season.

  30. if that's a fat suit then they are amazing, how do they work?
