Chicago Storms Past the Saints, Prep for Undefeated Lions

As a torrential downpour drenched the racous crowd of 70,000 at Soldier Field Sunday, no one knew what a treat they were in for this afternoon. As both offense struggled all afternoon, which included 11 turnovers in total, it was going to have to be up to the defenses and special teams to capture the W.

With the Bears trailing 10-7 going into the second half, and visibly disprupted by everything the Saints were doing, Devin Hester took a 97 yard kickoff to the house to start the second half, a lead the Bears would never relinquish. It was his first return of the season, and the Bears are glad to see Hester continue where he left off last season.

But it would take a special effort by the defense to seal the deal. Thats when Ken Lucas stepped up and had an afternoon no one is ever going to forget. With 3 INTs already under his belt, Ken Lucas went onto to grab his 4th and 5th INTs of the day, setting an alltime NFL record, one that is sure to never be broken and secured a 35-15 win.

"We knew with the heavy rain, Orton was going to struggle throwing ball. Once we got the lead, we sat back and made it happen" said a tearful Lucas after the game.

Th Bears will not be able to play like this if they intend on competing with the Lions this upcoming week. However both teams are 3-0 and everyone is expecting the Bears to leave everything on the field as they compete for the division lead. The Lions swept the Bears the past two seasons, both times eventually going onto the Super Bowl. The Bears would love to turn the tides and possibly shuffle to a Super Bowl themselves this season.

only game left is Hodge-Lucaduc... they have both tried to play it but couldn't find a time that worked... lucaduc was around the last few times but hodge couldn't play, but now lucaduc is out n about and hodge wanted to play... Luc has made more of an effort, but wasn't willing to stay home on a Friday to get the game in... I have texted him repeatedly with no answer

The only sour note for the Rams on this otherwise splendid day was the play of franchise quarterback Carson Palmer, who after having a great first two games to open the season has thrown 4 picks in his last 2 games as fans and management alike start to wonder if Carson is the quarterback who they thought he was. Chants could be heard late in the third quarter and early in the fourth for backup and former first overall pick Alex Smith. When asked after the game about his quarterback situation, coach Kline replied " Carson is our guy, Alex Smith?! you guys seriously want me to start Alex Smith?" followed by a deep bellowing laugh and the coach exiting the press conference. Palmer finished the game 13 of 23 for 196 yards 1 TD but 2 costly picks that lead directly to Panther points. The Rams(4-0) take on division foe Seattle at home next week, as they battle to stay atop the NFC west. The Panthers(4-1) will have a bye week next week to mull over their loss but look to rebound at home against the .500 Baltimore Ravens in week 7.</span>
