Do men really find the thought of an independant woman and everything that comes with it hot?? Sure there are bonuses that come with a woman who can take care of herself, but there in itself also lies the problem.......she can take care of herself.

This very well may mean that she will not come to depend on you for anything, including anything emotional. While many guys may find this a bonus, what if you actually start to care for her? Independant women can be a real find but normally this independance of hers is due to success in her life. Could you be with a woman who is more successful than you? Would you be okay if she made more money?

Independent woman is always +EV imo. They are better if you're just looking for a short-term thing because they will not get clingy and force you to wait on them hand and foot just so you can have consistent vag for a few weeks, and they're better if you're looking long-term because when you're on an equal level with someone then you can still enjoy their presence years down the road when theyre gross and old and you don't really want to shag anymore

haha well as the quoted, i suppose i'll answer. yes, i completely mean this. obviously some difficulties/cons in dating an independent woman: have to put forth more effort(since theyre not as worried about being in a relationship, they wont put up with as much shit, but i like it, because neither will i, and i obv dont mean that in a chaveunistic sort of way). A lot harder to get lots of alone time together... obv if theyre doing their own thing, theyre going to be a lot busier than a girl who just waits around for her BF to call and then will come racing over.

but in my mind the pros FAR outway the cons. the quality time you do get with them is awesome. great conversations, serious thoughts on serious topics. wont bog you down 24/7(no matter how much you love someone, you most definitely CAN get sick of them), and they will be far more likely to understand when you need alone time, or time with "the guys". also, these girls are far less of a drag to take out in public with you, as they can take care of themselves and usually hang with just about anyone.

of course some men will be turned off by all these things, just like im turned off by the thought of a person dependent upon another person. but i know that among myself and my guy friends(very genuine but crazy group of guys) an independent woman= Top notch.

i can say all this with experience, as ive been dating an independent woman for about 4 1/2 years. it will have been 5 this september, when it ends. and i say that, because she is independent as hell, and has been living with her sister and their best friend from childhood. theyve all been working jobs out of college for two years now and saving up a hell of a lot of cash. i think theyll have like 50 k between the three of them spendable, plus the bus they bought thats liveable. theyre travelling the country, and prob never coming back to indiana(who can blame them?), who knows what happens down the road but obv not doing the whole long distance thing, just not worth it. ive known this since the beginning of the relationship though and this hasnt stopped me from loving this woman, in fact made me love/respect her more.

Depends on what you mean by "independent."

I dated a girl who I knew would never get married (no, she wasn't a lesbian). 12 years later, it still looks like I was right. I knew I was wasting my time with anything other than just having a good time.

Then, I met my wife back in '99 and she was making over 150k/year working in New York City as a 24 year old illustrator. I was a completely broke West Point cadet, and I gotta say, I was pretty ok with her making a ton of money. Even a few years later, when we knew we were considering getting married and she still made more than me, I never felt inadequate just because she was successful.

I disagree completely with the OPs suggestion that someone who is "independent" would not be emotionally available for a relationship. Maybe that's the case with .01% of the female population, but if it is, there are other things going on that should put up red flags anyway.

As for someone that makes more then me or is more succesful wooo doesn't really matter. if all you measure yourself by is by comparing yourself to those that are close to you then do you even know what u really want? i think it comes down to whether a woman knows what she really wants in life or just what she wants now.

hahaha towman, i was going to add, i think independent women tend to be freakier in bed. they know what they want and theyre not afraid to go for it. loool ill never forget the first time my GF asked me to tie her up.

bwahahahahaha. personally I like needy/emotionally stunted high maintenance women but I'm in the minority
