They should be using foam to fight that fire. super fail on their part. failed so hard they spread the fucking thing.

Its actually quite pathetic and somebody will most likely end up losing their job for this

    more like a million!

was just browsing my FF forum and was told the dept i'm joining has their HazMat team on scene now. 80% contained, but yeah...they totally could have moved that truck!

  12. Jesus thats a lot of money. I just based 200k on the local fire co. had a fund raiser for a new truck they needed $200k...maybe they already had some money put aside from the city budget. Either way, someone get in and put that thing in gear ffs

  13. trucks are at least a few hundred thousand and with all of the equipment on board, easily a million in losses if it was indeed lost.

yeah, it was a loss...at 55secs or so

6 month ban bet. If the steel structure fails and experiences a total collapse I get the ban. If the steel remains in tact you get the ban.

  16. lol...was there jet fuel involved in this incident?

"The most prevalent chemical the company is required to document onsite is anhydrous ammonia," said Dave Bary.

  17. also how long till the fire department starting putting off the fire? <---- That is a very important fact to know before engaging the other side of the bet

actually the fact that firefighters engaged the fire already makes it dumb to bet against you stakindumbshit
  18. if your bic lighter fails to melt a metal tonka trunk then a jumbo jet crashing thru a skyscraper could never cause it to fall down. excellent point.
  19. depending on the chemicals, a lot of times if they can't contain it right off the bat they will let it burn itself out because of the danger.

look at this vid and the related ones on youtube. scary shtuff!

  20. ya when they use the word contain and the inside is filled with barrels of chemicals like the above pic taken from this facility its most likely they will just attempt to let it burn itself out and it will take a while to do.

I doubt they are doing anything but making sure it doesnt spread

  21. "Spread" like into the truck?
  22. wow, how the fuck does someone not think "I should move the fire truck, this fire is getting out of control!"

  24. it is waxahachie tho
  25. that is just terrible HazMat training on the part of the crew. They should have never parked that close to a chemical fire. You don't always fight a chemical fire with foam tho. It totally depends on what the chemical is...
