Men are crazy if they think that money is what women want. Women want men who genuinely care about them, respect them, and treat them like they're the most important thing in the world. It doesn't take money to do that.
I am not stupid, I know there are some women who are golddiggers. But I definately think they're the minority, not the other way around.
FWIW, my ex made about twice as much as Mike. I would rather live a modest life with someone I geniunely care about and respect than whore myself to live an oppulent life. To quote Dr. Phil "If you marry for money, you'll never work harder than each day you stay married." (something like that) -

Marinersheep is exactly right. I think the problem people are having here is that they are neglecting the fact you don't need HUGE money to be able to provide for your spouse. Just because you make a big salary does not make you a good husband or boyfriend. Haven't you ever seen Tin Cup. Jeezus. -

Women want providers, end of story, cavemen who could kill the most mammoth could have their choice of cave pussy. All women want monetary comfort, but different women have different level of comfortability. Some hot women are ok with being average with money, but high maintenence women, who are usually hotter, like money. I prefer not to have serious relationships, not only is it hard it's just not very smart for a young poker player IMO...

The OP was talking about limiting sex to twice a year with his wife which seems a bit odd. But thats his decision. Who knows what his situation is. Most modern women want a companion that shares the same interests and someone that contributes equally to a relationship, not a keeper. I'm a little confused by Waco's comments. If the argument is that in his profession, being away from home a lot or travelling a lot prevents him from having meaningful relationships, thats hard to argue with and thats a personal decision. But to say that only wealthy men have hot looking women hanging from their arms is just LOL (if thats really what he's saying). I'm sure there are plenty of Hollywood relationships that are like this (most of them last from 3 months to 3 years) but to say this is the formula for a lasting relationship, again is just LOL. -

There is definitely a correlation between money and hot wives. It cannot even be debated. It's obviously not 100% or anything but come on. The easiest way to see this is in high schools. High schools in upscale neighborhoods or ones that charge a tuition always have a higher ratio or good looking to bad looking girls. It's because the wives are better looking thus creating better looking children.
