  1. Been a fun ride for a couple years feeling like we had a real NFL team, but Cardinals fans will be back to praying for 6-10. Kurt Warner will hold a press conference on Friday. If you're gonna keep playing you just say "I'll be back next year". If you're ending your hall of fame career you call a press conference.

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
  2. as a diehard '9er fan i have to say thanks for handing us the division

we got the leinart led cards

    the never healthy hasselback hawks

and the worst team in the league with the rams

if niners dont ship the division then i say fire everyone and complete overhaul
  3. Have archie manning give the cardinals some sperm and in 20yrs you'll be set.

You are right about that, but I hope my Rams can prove me wrong. At least they will have some good draft picks again if not.
  5. yeah were obviously going to fall back to the pack which kind of sucks but i think kurt retiring is ok for the franchise. Lienart deserves a real chance before everybody labels him a bust. he hasnt been of to the best start but writing off a QB after 16 career starts is absurd and shows short term thinking. im not saying lienart is going to be the savior/top 5 qb but this the cards 1 year to see if hes the longterm answer and if not then we can go into another direction. the franchise saw this coming when they re-signed warner so life must go on.
  6. It's Singletary's third year, yeah? There's no way that he doesn't lose the team by them tuning out his incessant screeching by week 5. Singletary is Tom Coughlin without the coaching prowess. Ship it to Seattle.

  7. GG Fitzgerald and Boldin's fantasy value.

  8. i dont know. i have a feeling we are going to make a play at mcnabb. even though our organization usually doesnt make those type of moves, we are a team built for the now. i highly doubt we move boldin and we just gained some room to play with financially if warner does go. trade leinart and a 1st or 2nd rounder and i think we bag him. only other threat to get his is the vikings but favre will put them on hold for at least 3 more months

    Doubt that's real.

  10. Jury is out on Boldin because he won't be here either.

No Warner, no Boldin, no Dockett, no Dansby... Jesus Christ.

  11. Leinart = USC = NFL Hall of Fame

    imo
  12. Will some fans burn "Welcome Donovan" on his lawn?

  13. hold your horses, they will keep Dansby. they have took care of him every yet (granted not long term) but he has been paid handsomely. he will give the cards the time of day

boldin - simple, one year left on the contract, he is always hurt at the wrong time. his value is diminished, he is not a #1 anymore. we wont get more than a number #3.. not worth it. make him prove it and give him a contract accordingly.

biggest ? is do we go for mcnabb (i think we do) or play it out with leinart.
  14. They're gonna pay Karlos $12 million? No way. I hope you're right, but I don't see it. Someone will give him absurd money.

Early sure looked good when he got a chance to play if they don't keep Q around.

I'm certainly being melodramatic, but I'm not hopeful for the future.

  15. boldin should be the least of a cardinals fans concern. we have shown every year that our offense doesnt diminish greatly when hes out. im not saying were a better team without him were just not much worse. im way more concerned about Dansby/Dockett/Rolle

    my first thought also
  17. heres the thing about the recievers and why i think its important to keep Q. we do well when he isnt playing, but its more situational. Breaston and Doucet are injury prone as well. if we lose Q, true we have a good set of receivers. What happens if one gets hurt, which will happen. I dont see too many out there that we could get in free agency. YOu obv want a complete team, but realistically we are still young on D.. we need to develop our Draft pics from last year, draft graham from Okie this year, and keep our biggest strength (WR) at good depth. We have talented young guys on D. Lets develop them. Lets keep rocking out the O, it can almost be perfect.

Lets remember, Brandon Marshall is out there though. he could probably come with a Boldin package of some sort, i could see that.

its an uncapped year, we will be able to retain our free agents alot easier this year. Wilson got his cheddar, Warner and Fitz got their cheddar, Boldin has got extensions.. its time to hook up dansby and dockett and tighten that offense up with a sweet tit to Philli and if we have anything left over, go for broke with a Marshall trade. thats what i want for xmas
  18. our offensive unit is not going to be toyed with in the slightest. the marshall or mcnabb additions seem so counter productive with all our current contracts coming up on the defensive side. just because its a uncapped year doesnt mean the bidwill's will start throwing money around for the first time in there lives. every draft under graves has produced pro bowl talent while we have done virtually nothing in free agency year after year. i expect that trend to continue
  19. couldnt agree and disagree with you more. agree in relation to the draft/free agency. our free agency has always been targeted to the defense, so thats why i say we need to canx that (with exception of edge, who i would say played a big role in last years run towards the end, so worth it).

i disagree with the fact about the bidwells. different times different measures. we are actually good now, and have alot of pieces in place to continue to be good if not great. If they want the juice to be worth the squeeze for that stadium they lobbied for, they know they have to keep winning. no way do we start leinart this year, i just cant believe it. the marshall thing is a pipedream to me because he is too hot a commodity on the market i believe and we wont be able to please him. No biggie though because we still have boldin under contract. Cards will be just fine. plus we get the AFC West next year, plus our usual division. i see a 12 win season in the midst if we get the right qb.

btw Defense improved alot last year, just ran into trouble in the playoffs, but we also had the injury bug towards the end as well. all is well in az boys
  20. They werent keeping lienarts huge contract around to back up kurt warner without the intention of having him start when kurt left. if we could get equal talent for him at the sam position we would do that but thats not realistic. Im not saying he will even be the starter long term but he gets his 1 year for sure. if he flops then we draft a qb the next year. i just think theres no way they kept lienart as a highly paid backup and then to dump him at such low value before you ever find out if he was worth it or not
  21. Matt Leinart will take the Cards to the Promised Land.

If, by Promised Land, Cards fans mean a hot tub, chicks, and a beer bong.
  22. Cool story, bro.

Congrats on the Atlanta Falcon-like epicness of ur two-year run as a real pro football team.

Shame about Warner though. True warrior.
  23. hard to believe a QB couldn't succeed throwing to Fitz, maybe Boldin. a lot of you also forget that breaston had a 1,000 yard season two years ago and is a solid #2 option if boldin decides to leave. doucet would make a good 3rd option as he is a big physical guy.

this is your shot leinart, don't fuck it up.
  24. Warner is the nuts... I'm just really happy that this thread isn't about Leinart following Pete Carroll to run the Seahawks even farther into the ground than they already are...

Fitz will still be a top 5 fantasy wideout (at least on draft day) but I think they probably make a shift towards a bit more of Beanie's team, let Boldin go (which sucks), and they are probably still a middle of the pack team that could still ship that awful division...

Beanie Wells becomes a top 5 back with Leinart at QB imo. Cards will try to become mid 2000s steelers... before big ben was having 500 yard passing games.
  27. I think Matt Leinart will set new completion records in the NFL.

Like greatest number of 3-7 yard completions in a season.

GG Cardinals. Might as well trade Boldin for a corner, and try to build a defense like the Jets, Cowboys or Ravens.

Quite a relief though since AZ was the easiest game on the Cowboys non-division road schedule, even before Leinart took the helm - Packers, Vikings, Colts, Texans... brutal.

  28. Cards will still have Fitzgerald and Breaston, along with Wells at RB, which may be enough in the West-for now.

After that, GG and GL; they will be buggered.

This...if Favre AND Warner retire, let the bidding begin. These teams can't go into next season with a shit quaterback. It could be a win/win imo. McNabb's not happy, Philly's not happy....we can just move on and Donovan might get his ring, and at least the Vikes/Cards have a good year.

Philly people will be butthurt if McNabb wins the Superbowl though...I know I will.

The uncapped year has a couple of exceptions that will limit the movement of top Free Agents.

The top eight playoff finishers from the previous season would be allowed to sign free agents only at the rate at which they lose them.

    • Players would need six NFL seasons to be eligible for free agency, rather than four.

    • Each team would be allowed to restrict two eligible free agents with "franchise" or "transition" player tags, rather than one.
