grab a cheese bacon burger and find new friends. -
Great idea...I just got back to the gym today and may add this to my new regime..

I'm kinda with jay on this. I agree that it is a good first step, but you really to up your intake significantly to make a real difference. The one thing I can definitely appreciate is just disrupting the meat every meal cycle and finding that vegetables can be a sustainable replacement.

If you're serious about this, can I have your share? I am all for the wanton slaughter of domesticated livestock, so that my belly can be satisfyingly full seven days a week.

lol -- that looks like my inaugural Meatless Monday poop Smokey, wp.
-
I'd say sounds fun but it really doesn't. Shouldn't be that hard tho, just do what I do on Mondays and sleep till dinner.
-
lol...noted.
Not for long, fingers crossed, I'm in talks for a year contract. -

I think you're better off making it Menu Mondays where you actually prepare 3 healthy meals and don't allow yourself to eat anything besides those meals, this will help with all the snacking fatties usually do.
Also, it would require structure and discipline, which impulsive or compulsive eaters don't have. Meat is not you're enemy. -
I'm actually planning on trying to go vegetarian for the month of December. It's partially for the health reasons and partially because it will force me to get more creative in the kitchen.
-
no meat on monday after tg? no thanks.
-
This, but eat all 3 of the meals at the same time.

Or just go a day without eating.
You'll live fatty. -
I work for a natural food store that has a Vegan Deli and the food is really good. One of the chefs is a Macrobiotic and raw foods chef, he has a lot of knowledge on foods and recipes. They make a different soup every day that is always good, brocolli and leek soup, thai corn chowder, roasted veggies and Quinoa soup. They all taste great. Also sandwiches and wraps that are meat and soyless that all taste pretty good. I'm pretty convinced if you have knowledge of food preparation and different things to cook, you probably won't miss meat much at all.

Meat is murder
-
if I ever ate a human being I'd make sure it was a vegan.

this thread has inspired me to cook something vegan tomorrow... gonna marinate some tempeh in homemade maple syrup from my cousins farm, little soy, some fresh ginger, bake it for a few hours and make a couple of wraps with tons of veggies and a ginger cream (cream substitute can be made with blended silken tofu). some rice and brussel sprouts.
pretty sure i'll crack and make the brussel sprouts with onions and bacon tho -

I have not had an bite of meat in 17 years. I don't miss it at all. It never even crosses my mind to eat meat. There are plenty of options out there that are delicious, nutritious and meatless.
My wife is very much into eating healthy. She has been writing a blog on healthy eating for a year now. She has posted a ton of recipes. In just one year she has posted over 200 times. It really is her passion and she puts a ton of time into it. Her posts are actually pretty entertaining to read too. The blog is called Healthy In Candy Land (her name is Candy) (www.healthyincandyland.com).
Here is one of her more clever posts from a couple of weeks ago: http://healthyincandyland.com/?p=3210
Here is one my favorite recipes: http://healthyincandyland.com/?p=861
