Best bet is to find a shitty convenience store or liquor store. I also went to a kiosk at CVS today cause apparently no one knew it was there and everyone was lined up at the kiosk in the grocery store next door.

I just didn't know the rake was that big. I thought it was like 50-60 percent.

They're getting 1.46 billion but the pot only increased 280 million

here's new problem though. If they sold 1.46 billion in tickets (lets say multipler accounts for 260 million in sales) then that means there's 1.2 billion tickets out there. with the chances of hitting being 1 in 176 million that means there should be roughly 7 winning tickets sold (could me more, could be less). so the cash option could be 65 million, after taxes you're down to 45 million and you still have to give roughly 3 million to OT.

So they rake ~60% right off the top, then from the remaining ~40% they give you ~75% of that if you take the lump sum. And last but not least they whack you for nearly 40% tax on what you gross? So from $1.46b paid in over 2 months, the eventual jackpot winner nets about $250-$300m, or ~20% of what was actually collected.
