been through hell, handled it pretty well, got all the tears out of the way 3 years ago when my life took this turn, but now that i found out that my teeth are going busto in the next year, i feel mentally scared again. Just the unattractive feeling of seeing your body decay before your eyes is mentally hard to swallow. anyone here have this crappy problem in their life? The fun part is paying up out of pocket a couple ME buyins to get all this stuff taken care of. Found out as well that my right lung is severly scarred and could worsen and shorten life, but the TEETH thing.... watching them fall out like im 75 years old is just almost too much. anyone whose dealt with this can PM me with some input if you dont feel like posting it here. thx

get fake teeth ldo.
-
Pm me dude. Seriously. I lost my middle bottom on both sides after the radiation started. Thats was after 2 yrs of intense chemo, keep in touch bro. My thoughts are with you :) Keep throwing punches!
-
My senial grandma loses her teeth alot. Like 2 times a year she has to get new teeth.
You're obviously a strong dude. You've been through a lot. I'm sure you can deal with getting fake teeth a little early. just dont leave your teath on the tray at the cafeteria. -

That's awful. No words to really express how much sympathy (if that's the right word) I have for you. Dental insurance won't cover dental implants? My dad used to brush his teeth too hard (Yik wtf?) and recently his teeth have been literally breaking in half. Originally his insurance wouldn't cover fixing it b/c they said he doesn't need his front teeth to chew but then he went to a different dentist who worded the request differently and he was able to get the replacement teeth-not dentures for just a copay.
Anyway, I commend you for being strong enough to get thru all of ur struggles. You will get hrough this as well. -
Sorry to hear about this OP but please have a mod retitle this thread to:
"The OT Debbie Downer Awards 2010 hosted by myself and ECUgirl!" -
"With special guest appearance by Mr323!"

I am sorry you are going through it bro, I watched my wife go through hell with chemo and radiation and was unaware at the time of the devastating and long term effects it would have. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wishing you the best recovery, buchs. The teeth situation is temporary and repairable. You're gonna be alright.

I always have dreams that my teeth are falling out randomly. It's def a bad feeling even if it is a dream. Keep your chin up!

dude i know exactly what u mean.. wheni was 13 or so i was playing bbal and lodged half of my front tooth in the top of somebodies skull and had a partial but when i hit 20 something i had the tooth removed and put a fake and it looks fine perfect really but the cement only lasts about 10 to 15 years and i woke up one day and bit into an apple and it popped off
It was very humiliating. I went immediatley to the dentist and had it taken care of but since I have had dreams about my teeth falling out and its the worst feeling in the world.. in all honesty i cant wait to the day i can take all my teeth out and have a fake set made preferable the permanent kind. GL with your health man... really thats whats most important here... but what your feeling is natural just dont let your thoughts get the best of you. Its not like you let your teeth rot from decay from poor dental hygiene. There is def more humiliating things out there... imagine having to shit into a bag 24/7 for the rest of your life... that would suck and prob for quality of life reasons would rather risk death then to not fix it... now i know that sounds cruel and all and i shouldnt say that unless i went through it... well i did go through it for about 18 months of my life i had an colostomy and illostomy bag attached to me 24 / 7 and it changed my comfy life upside down as i know it and i can honestly say that I would probably take a risky operation that could result in death 50/50 to take that risk... oh wait I did and im still here. You're still here bro... just imagine how much easier dental care is gonna be when u get a new set of shiny white ones. :) gl man take care of yoreslf -
during chemo i had the 'teeth falling out' nightmare multiple times. found out it was common. sorta got this paranoia the wife will find me less attractive etc. the other blow to the balls here is that im down to (and this is hard to admit) 120lbs at 6'2. ... freaking amazing how much can go wrong even 7 months out from my BMTransplant. thx for the PM's, getting word that even tho mentally this sucks harder than most things, it can be ok in the long term. apprec. those PMs and ill PM back tonight.
Good to know someone else here has had to make cancer threads here and there. i try to keep mine to once every 4 months or so, so that i dont come off as this "poor me" sob story and get accused of wanting attn. So ill only through one of these up every now and then when ive finally "had enough" and need to spout a few words just to get it off my chest. been fearful of it lately cause i got some backlash from a few idiots in the past few years who get mean towards me in these threads if i make too many of them. anyways, again thx for the input, expecially in the PM area and will try to pick myself up here shortly. My only wish now is that the effects of that transplant eventually slow down, cause now i can barely do a 10 hour poker day once a week, and cant even do multi day live tourneys which SUCKS when you live in vegas just that you CAN do multi day events. I tried to play the venetian deep stack Extrav. IV while battling pnemonia and wearing a mask to the events..... and i sucked it up hard trying to grind through it with that illness. i simply have to keep pushing poker aside and wait patiently for my body to recover. grrrrrr i swear if i get back to full strength i hope i can eventually get my dues. but not in 2010 it seems. -
(regarding the 'teeth falling out' nightmares)
That nightmare seems to be universally known as one of the worse to have. if they are anything like the ones i have i bet your freaked out half the next day or longer. I had a couple absolutely rediculous ones which involved slow deaths that lasted through the last breathe. waking up after those had me in shakes so bad i had to take walks outside in the middle of the night just to gather myself and stop the shaking. sorry for the morbit thread lol, again, ill keep these to a 3x a year or less which i think makes this my 3rd and final morbit OT topic in what needs to be a happy forum lol -
Don't let a few idiots prevent you from wanting to vent. There a way more of us who really are interested in how you are doing.
-
Yeah I can't really give you any advice, but I hope everything ends up well for ya

are you on patches?

Sux man :/
Keep strong brother, for yourself and others. You need your support group to have hope, for both you and them. Best of luck in your battle.
*I lost both my front teeth ice skating when i was 3-4, faceplant gg teefez. They did not grow back till after 6th grade started. Hearing that damn chipmunks song "all i want for xmas..." drives me bonkers till this day. I could whistle like a champ tho. :) -
I'd imagine your immune system is somewhat compromised (no clue if I'm right) but if that is the case live poker seems like a terrible idea (ppl are fkn dirt balls)

I feel for ya bro, keep fighting, teeth can be replaced and no one will know they aren't the originals. I've also heard you may regrow teeth if you post pics of the wife in OT. You post them on wowswift, and they'll all grow in straight and shiny white. Good luck brah.
