  1. Good riddance! He has held mizzou hostage every offseason for the past 2 yrs with the threat of leaving, just to get a raise.
What did that get us? We barely made the tourney this year, and he's worth $2.2 MILLION a year? Ha!

He now gets paid the same as coach K.

Hilarious...don't let the door hit you in your ass on your way out!

    Let's go get Brad Stevens!
  2. lol @ being happy Mike Anderson is leaving.

bye bye flip as well :(. This sucks.
  3. Maybe Flip leaves, maybe not.
If we hit a home run with the next hire, maybe he stays.
Flip may not want to transfer and lose a year.

Im glad youre in love with Anderson.......he's taken us to as many Elite 8's as Quin Snyder.

    Nuff said.

  4. If I were a Missouri Fan I'd much rather him leave then continue to get raises for sub par years. 2.2 mill a year for a consistent middle of the conference type team is crazy.
  5. LOL at you getting Stevens.

I dont disagree with the statement that it is probably better he leave than act like he wants to leave every year so he can get a 500k raise. I just find the "good riddance, get the fuck out" attitude pretty stupid, given what he has done for a program that was in absolute shambles when Quinn snyder left.

We had a top 3 finish, big 12 tourney championship, and run to the elite 8 just 3 years ago (one of the best seasons missouri has ever had). This year he brought in two of the best recruits columbia has ever seen (one ended up being ineligable, but still).

most of all lol @ "holding us hostage offseason" 1 offseason, and then a decision within a week the following year.

  8. This sucks. I guess I'm the only one who remembers the Quinn Snyder era. At least we were making the tourney and winning some games with Coach Anderson. Although we still couldn't beat Kansas at least we were competing and even won the Big 12 tourney. I was frustrated this year but I loved the way CMA ran his program.

  9. i didnt say he didnt turn the program around...he did...but what's happened since the elite 8?
Sorry, im not happy with "just making the tourney". This years team had the talent to go far,
but i guess 8-8 in the big 12 is good enough for you. Cmon..this entire team, from the coaches on down underacheived this year. Sure, give this man his money!

  10. he is just getting his system established to where he can get his type of players into town. this team was young. they definitely underachieved (badly) in the second half of the season, and he did not deserve a raise after this year. that doesn't change the fact that being happy he is leaving, and saying "dont let the door hit you on the way out" is ridiculous given what he has done/is doing.
  11. idk how you can ask for an 800k raise after this year. I thank him for his time here at Mizzou.

  12. I just know where our program was before he was hired. I'm not happy with how the second half of the season went but I know that we are not an elite program. This team was very young and it showed in Big 12 play. I just feel that CMA was capable of making Mizzou a top tier program. Now we have to start all over again.

Probably pissed because they don't get to play against him anymore. KU was 9-1 against Anderson.
  16. cant say im mad hes leaving....they are getting a little worse each year since they miracled to the elite 8 with him, their best win of the season was against kstate at home when they were struggling lol, he can't recruit st. louis (not 1 player on the team i think, and the best player in stl this yr didnt even really consider him and is going to florida), he cant recruit any big men to play his "40 minutes of wtf" style, he lost burks to COLORADO, he offered hansbourough to WALK ON when he couldve stepped in and been the best shooter on this team by far, lol at even considering giving him a raise to stay
  17. Mizzou fans are going to be missing him soon.

Are all mizzou fans really this stupid? Do you not remember pre-Anderson?

Bradley Beal had the Chaminade pipeline to Florida so Anderson was going to have a tough time getting him anyway. Other than that he's gotten to past three Mr. Basketball's in Missouri with Kreklow, Dixon Jr. and Denmon. He also had some promising big men on his radar this year and don't forget about the big man he had that didn't clear the NCAA this past year.

  20. i guess we choose to remember the norm stewart era when they were good every year even ranked #1 a couple times, granted there were many biblical tourney fails but even snyder got them to the elite 8 before all the bedshit.....

maybe so but kreklow seems pretty awful to me and he wanted dixon over burks somehow, denmon is their best player tho
  21. I see Kreklow as being a Josh Kroenke type coming off the bench and hitting maybe one or two threes a game. He is just a freshman. Don't get me started on Snyder. I was there when he started and I thought he was terrible for Mizzou. So much unnecessary bullshit went down when he was there. Obv Anderson missed big with Burks but hindsight is 20/20.

  22. I'm not upset he's gone. He's not worth 2.2M a year, IMO. But thanks for pulling us out of the gutter. GL.
  23. watching the press conference with the players . . . they seem devastated. Half the team came there because they knew Anderson personally and wanted to play for him. Denmon just said that Anderson basically told him he was gonna stay when he talked to him. Kinda shitty to leave them behind after getting a 500k raise, but Arkansas is his "dream job" I guess.
  24. I'm over it

  25. when they fired nolan richardson and anderson took over for like the last ten games at arkansas however long ago that was. 12-13 years ago probably if not longer. when the season was over all the players wanted anderson and arkansas wouldnt give him the time of day. now all these years later they are throwing money at him. local radio in northwest arkansas has been reporting since monday that this was all but a done deal. why anderson wants to be at arkansas so bad i have no idea. i mean i know he was nolans assistant but i dont think he is from around here. he probably has ties to the area but i dont know. its not like arkansas is some huge step up from missouri. its really a lateral move. mizzou would have probably matched or come really close to whatever arkansas gave as long as it was reasonable so he obviously just wanted to be at arkansas. why it would be his dream job after the way they treated him the first time i have no idea but i dont really know a lot about the guy or his background.

  26. Meh I don't think it's a lateral move. Arkansas history > mizzou no?

This is all that really needs to be said.

There's a bevy of good coaches out there. I trust Alden to find the one that can make Mizzou great.

Also props to the players for handling the press conference with a stoic poise. Whoever replaces anderson is going to have a great senior class to work with.

  28. Im an arkansas homer but this is far from a lateral move, not even close.

And, we're glad to have him.

why? you have a richer tradition but as far as today goes you guys have similar programs. arkansas doesnt stick out today any more than missouri. if you were to ask most people from neither of the two states they wouldnt look at arkansas as some type of step up. maybe to you it is because you are biased. but not to most people looking at it from a neutral position. recruting is the same. i doubt recruits look at them any differently. i mean you have 1 title and were good 15 years ago. that resulted in some big achievements but its not like arkansas is some elite program. if there is any upward movement at all it is extremely small and in no way some major step up. he is gonna get the same exact players he got at mizzou. its just now now they are gonna be a state down in arkansas. mcdonalds all americans are not gonna be flocking to fayetteville now cause mike anderson is the coach.

  30. lol @ "not even close"

I guess zwall thinks Arkansas' national championship 17 years ago somehow matters now--like they are some top echelon program these days because of it. One good 5 year stretch in your entire history and you act like you are Duke or UNC. Arkansas has failed to make the tourney for three consecutive years and 7 out of the last 10.
