Yeah those are the players - assuming the medical records are all in order, it's done. Looks like goodbye for Damon.

its a great deal for the yanks.
austin jackson was never going to be a star. 300 hitter, 10-15 hrs. 20 sb.
Kennedy 4th starter at best.
they get edwin jackson who in the 1st half was one of best pitchers in AL.
granderson who can be a 30/30 w/ that short porch in right. -
Edwin Jackson is going to Zona i'm pretty sure. yanks are only getting Granderson
-
I yike it a yot!

Brad Penny - STL
Ivan Rod - Nats -
Wow looks to me like the Tigers made out like bandits here. They absolutely jobbed the Dbacks and probably got the best of the Yanks too.
The Dback give up Scherzor who projects to be better than E Jackson and is under team control for 6 years, AND another first round arm in Schlereth???? WHAT???? They completely overpaid on 2 years of Jackson based on one good year. Maybe this deal makes sense for a team on the cusp on contending, but the Dbacks???
The deal with New York I think is a little closer, because I have never been high on Austin Jackson. Some people who are high on Jackson might say that Detroit got the better of this end too. Granderson has been trending downwards in almost every area though.
His OPS+ over the last 3 years: 135, 123, 100
His numbers against lefties: .189/.245/.239/.484
GROSS!!
That being said im sure as soon as he goes to the Yankees be will turn into the second coming of Willie Mays.
All in all I really like what the Tigers did here. Hate what the Diamondbacks did. And im iffy on the Yankees deal, leaning toward Detroit winning there too. -
from the yankees pov its a great deal.
they dump an outfielder prospect who's peak is about where granderson is at.
kennedy was never going to have a spot to pitch in the rotation.
2 bullpen arms where they are dime a dozen.
granderson improves the yanks as he is better than anyone they can run out there ie, melky / gardner. -
Seriously, what in the fuck are the D-Backs thinking? Scherzer showed more promise than Jackson last year, and he's under team control for 5 more years. The Tigers are gonna have a sick 1-2-3 next year.

Scherzer goes from pitching in the pathetic NL west to the national league. -
So winners = Tigers, losers = D-backs, Yankees = break even?
-
Porcello and Scherzer. I understand what you're saying about the NL-AL switch, but I don't think it will affect Scherzer that much. I'm wondering if the D-Backs know something about Scherzer's health that the Tigers don't. He has a violent head-snap at the end of his motion and has had shoulder problems in the past. Thats the only reason I can think of why Arizona made this trade.

Why would the Mets who are pitching thin, even thinking of trading Maine? (For Hart)
-
White Sox signed Teahan to a 3 yr deal after getting him from the Royals in a trade.
White Sox also appear to be frontrunners for Hideki Matsui. I was personally thinking he might want to play along with Ichiro oops. Cue that's Wacist
I would like the phils to pursue Ben Sheets and give him a base deal with huge incentives, no pressure as 5th starter and I think will be back a high level. apparently Mets and Yankees are interested F them.
No idea why Royals want Rod Barajas, I think Lobstamobsta would be a better signing for them.
Orioles trying to trade for Uggla, dam as awesome as it is to win and have fire sale rinse repeat. Must be very frustrating at times to be a Marlins fan if they do end up moving Uggla . I personally would rather not have to play him 19 times a year in the NL east but breaking up that middle infield combo is a mistake in my opinion.
