  1. I'm a die hard Yankees fan, and switched from cable to directv so I could get the YES network. Unfortunately, the contract negotiations between YES and DirecTV are still up in the air and they're scheduled to blackout the channel come tomorrow (Saturday April 2nd).

Now, I'm not of the greatest temperament during the baseball season if the Yanks aren't playing well, but if I have to watch those games on NESN, shit's gonna get broken around my house. You can judge me, but Mets fans don't want to listen to the Phillies channel when their game is on, and you Boston homers wouldn't want to watch it on the Yankee channel.

Anyways - I figured I'd let everyone know that if they have the MLB package and call DirecTV and let them know you're pissed about the YES network going away (whether you are or not), and don't want to watch the games on the opposing teams channels, they'll give you $10 off the cost of the package per month, saving you $60 for a 10 minute phone call. Well worth it no matter who you follow, imo.
  2. lol
  3. what an appropriate screen name to respond. If they don't straighten this shit out, I won't be able to hear your rendition of "New York, New York" after home victories. I just wanted to...

    start spreadin' the nnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssssssss

  4. Even if u get the yes network , they still blackout the games. Had this issue last year. They are not blacked out in nj,ny and parts of ct. Only 2 options 1. Get MLB package. 2. Just watch the 40 or so games they have on tv. Well I get about 40 cause I'm just north of boston.
  5. ^^ this. I have the "sports" package on my Brighthouse, it has all of the FSN's from around the country, worthless. All games are blacked out.

The MLB.tv deal is like 120 for the season, not too shabby. >20/mo

  6. I've been going back and forth with this. I have Cox cable, and it's $179 for the season for the MLB Extra Innings package. I would like to have that for the Phillies, but the $120 for MLB.tv seems worth it.

    Can't decide.

  7. I was looking at Extra Innings just a second ago. Thinking about just spending the extra 60 bucks just to have it on the tv w/o having to plug the computer into it, and worry about connection speed/buffering/etc. I had MLB.tv last year, and enjoyed it, the fantasy tracker is kind of cool, and if your connection is on point you can watch multiple games at once.
  8. With MLB u can watch it on ur phone on any pc. So if ur away u can still watch it

I understand that, but within the MLB package, I'd only be able to watch Yankees games on the opposing teams channel. I actually buy the YES network, too for the 24/7/365 on the "local sports package" that costs me $8 a month - and they're actually taking $10 off of that per month, too, for the next 6 months for a $2/month credit, lol.

  11. It's great to live near your team.

yeah - Cliff Lee's wife can bite me. I'm waiting to see AJ pitch before I bitch about the rotation. I'm intrigued by what Freddy Garcia can offer, but I still think Pettite comes back after the All-Star break.
