  1. I am not even that in to MMA and def consider myself a lamen but Ive seen a few Evans and Griffin fights and I am really thinking of putting lumber on Evans.

I have only seen 2 forrest griffin fights but he seriously does not look that good to me at all and I totally see this being a loss.

Like I said I am pretty noobin maybe I am missing some nuances but one of the fights I saw him in was vs Shogun and shogun just seemed ridiculously under conditioned in that fight, I mean when you are completely gassed out in the 2nd round there is something wrong with you or your training. I just cant give forrest a ton of credit for winning this fight.

And the Rampage fight seemed lame. To me forrest won position, being the agressor, and had some submission attempts (I dont even know what the judges really look at) but it just seems like he basically did no damage to rampage and Rampage was dealing out much more damage (although he def was running way too much and only doing counter flurries)

But I guess my point is, Forrest really didnt prove much to me as a casual fan watching these as where every Evans fight I see him in he looks like the real deal and has much better skills than Forrest.

    Rashad Evans +115?
  2. pm BPV3 and Jamers on my Griffin predictions
  3. Griffin is a huge 205'er. Rashad is definitely one of the smaller 205'ers. Griffin has a big height and reach advantage. Griffin might not have impressed you but one thing about him is he gets the job done. He is a warrior. He is getting better in every fight and he is a very smart fighter.

I believe he will be able use his length to pick apart Rashad and grind out a decision. Rashad's resume is pretty weak IMO. He lost to Tito, a fence grab with like 30 seconds to go saves him. He flash KO's liddell who can't keep his hands up. Wins a decision against a crappy bisbing. Other than that, what has he done?

Saying all of that, I do like to bet underdogs in MMA since you get value in a sport when anything can happen.

Should be an amazing night of fights either way.
  4. mig.com had a pretty good breakdown of this fight on page 19 of his well over on pd and I tend to agre with what he said. I think Forrest is going to still have the belt after this one is done.

Great night of fights. Rampage V Silva is scheduled to be the third fight on this card! Can't wait.
  5. Forrest has a massive reach advantage and a great camp (extreme Couture), which means he will always come with a solid gameplan, he has better BJJ but Rashad is a very good wrestler and a better striker, its a very tough fight to call, but im leaning towards Rashad just because i always doubt him and he always proves me wrong. As far as Forrest being unKOable, no man is, Rashad has one punch KO power (ask Chuck) and i think he will catch Forrest and get him to the ground and proceed from there. I hope at least or this could be a boring affair.

You think Rampage did more damage then forresT? lol, Rampages leg buckled early in the 2nd round, no leg = no power.
  6. This is a pretty close match. I just feel that Forrest will eek this one out because he always has such a solid gameplan, and he is taller and out reaches Rashad. It really could go either way, it's a tough one to predict.
  7. forrest, not even close, he's just a better fighter i know evans ko'd liddel, but ko'ing a guy who was basically retired isn't saying much, in his last two fights griffen has beaten two men with way more skill and ability, that being said, upsets do happen sometimes
  8. I agree with op that Evans is gonna kill although I am no expert either. I also think silva will destroy and mir will lose a close one.
  9. "Rashad's resume is pretty weak IMO. He lost to Tito, a fence grab with like 30 seconds to go saves him"

Wasnt tito the one grabbing the fence so he didnt get taken down? Oh and who won the Tito vs Forrest fight? STRAIGHT UP

    Rashad FTW
  10. i think griffin won the tito fight he just got screwed by the judges
  11. Forrest Gump lost the fight to Rampage. He will be exposed tommorrow.

What is there to expose? He fights like a reckless hobo and can take a beating. That said, I love to watch him fight.

I have. No way the Champ should lose his belt that way. It was very close but he pulled it out.
  15. I think its going to be a good fight but rashad is winning this one.
  16. griffen has on of the best work ethics in mma. his cardio is top notch, his ground game is at least par, if not better. and his stand up, even so he doesnt have liddel/rampage knockout power, is very good and getting better. he can take more punishment than prbly ANYONE currently in ufc.
and dont forget to win his belt he had to beat rampage, a fight in which he was a 4-1 dog. and anyone who says he lost that fight, was not paying attention or is an idiot. he lost round 1 won round 2and 3, 4 was a toss up, and he won round 5, thats a win.
as far as THIS fight goes id put my money on forrest and sit on the edge of my seat. rashad is a great wrestler and can punch like a fucker.

    i cant wait.

mark my words....rashad loses to ref stopage in 3rd or 4th
or else rashad knocks him out in 2nd

*EDIT* forrest was knocked out by jardean...so yes he can be touched.....im still HUGE FORREST FAN THOUGH SINCE DAY ONE....HES THE MAN
  17. Percentage of MMA fans that know what they are talking about? Id set the over/under at about 5 percent... I am not in that 5 percent.
  18. I consider myself a fan that has above ave knowledge of ufc fights. ive been watching for 10 years since there were no rules. ive seen the game change as well as the faces. there is NO way rampage won that forrest fight. he even admited it to ufc.com. STOP TALKING SHIT IF YOU DONT KNOW WHT YOUR TALKING!!

    *edit* "he" is rampage btw.
  19. the videos i see on ufc.com show rampage saying he thinks he won. im not sure what video youre talking about on the website, but if you can provide a link id love to see it. i personally thought rampage won 3-2 possibly 4-1. i even watched the fight again today to score the rounds again. anyways, my pics for tomorrow are rampage, nog, and sugar rashad.

    traveshamockary
  20. Rashad is an overly cocky douchebag who looks like a fat cuba gooding jr. I fucking hate him more than i hate any other MMA fighter save tim sylvia, which should be a given.

That being said, he's going to win tomorrow night. I love forrest but he just doesn't have the fire necessary to win in any way other than a decision. He's so humble and self deprecating, and during the weigh in stare down he looked SO uncomfortable. That's a bad sign right there.

Rashad is going to stop forrest somewhere before the start of the 5th round..I'm thinking late 3rd or mid 4th. Forrest has sick conditioning and that will help him, but he doesn't have the KO power rashad does and he has never done well against wrestlers, which is rashad's main strength.

I feel really bad for forrest but he loses.

Rashad by TKO (strikes) towards the end of the 3rd in the same way jardine beat forrest.

    I'm also thinking..

Silva by split decision in the fight of the year...

Nog by armbar in the 2nd ....no way nog loses this fight, ever, 100 times out of 100 he wins this. Mir only wins if jesus decides he'd liek to meet frank mir sooner than later, bc brock will kill him in the ring this time around.
