Not sure if many of you have heard of MMA Live, but it's a great show, been on for just over a year now, and people seem to be buzzing about Lyoto Machida, and they get into him right at the beginning. Obviously don't have to watch all if it, but it's interesting. Def get some LOL's at Jose Canseco.

And I wholly agree with Kenny Florian on Machida. No one is touching him for quite some time, and Lyoto is a terrible style match up for Quintin Jackson. Machida takes that one with relative ease, imo.
  2. who's lyoto machida? he needs more threads.
  3. GHouse who do you think will fight Machida now that Rampage turned down the title shot to fight Rashad?

  4. Aw, rigged! C'mon!

Meh, f it. MMA Live is good enough for it's own thread regardless of a day or so old thread, imo.

  5. Well, there's speculation that Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will be next in line. Nothing confirmed though...

It's possible that Forrest Griffin can get back in there with him if he does well at UFC 101 against Anderson Silva. (But, that'd mean the title wouldn't be defended until UFC 105ish. Long layoff)

Also, it's not really confirmed or denied yet but it's rumored that Rampage will coach against Rashad but fight Machida at UFC 103.

I have no idea. In all honesty, I can't see anyone at 205 really giving him a legitimate threat to his title. Rampage is one of the worst styles (for Rampage himself) to fight Machida. He's relatively flat footed, and is very grounded when he fights. He's not super quick like Rashad. And even Rashad couldn't really touch him. Rampage needs to catch lightning in a bottle to catch Machida, imo.

Cliffs - No idea. Shogun most likely (though I don't feel he's earned it), and Griffin is possible. Luiz Cane is kinda there but moreso on the back burner.

  6. FORREST!!!
  7. I agree with mostly everything here. Machida is going to hold the title for a long time. Rampage, Griffin, or Shogun wont beat him imo and those are the top fighters left in that weight class. In the end Machida will reign for awhile and I love it cause Machida is the shit. Such a smart great fighter and I look forward to seein more of him. He def earned it.

  12. What I don't get is why do people say Rashad couldn't touch him when from what I saw / heard of the fight that they changed his style to wait for Machida to come to him.. soo to be honest I didn't really see Rashad fight his usual game however Machida still pwnt him obv
  13. you say shogun hasnt earned it?? but machida did?? based on what, beating washed up tito, overrated t. silva and soakyjew the gas out king?? come on, shoguns pedigree is 10x that of machida before the ufc, he was one of the most devastating 205ers ever, one of the best champions ever. He is one fight from a title shot, after page, its so obv, and Shogun has the tools, believe it, to say its not even close is an insult to him at his best
  14. "This thread froze my computer, now let me freeze you:"

  15. i dont know how you can say that shogun has earned it based on his record outside the ufc, but machida didn't. machida took out franklin, penn, soko, ortiz... with no losses, I'd say that qualifies the guy for a freaking title shot.

i agree shogun's pedigree is better, but machida didn't go out and look like a washed up slob like shogun did against forrest & coleman. there's something to be said for consistency, especially leading up to a title shot.
  16. Lyoto Machida will find that 1 fighter who will give him fits...just like Franklin found Silva...speaking of which...if Anderson Silva decides to bounce between 185 and 205, i think he could be Machida...but it'd be a great fight
  17. what makes ben stiller an authority on mma?
  18. Cmon let's get to the real fight, Lyoto Machida vs. Anderson Silva. Would be epic.
