  1. I am fucking stoked about this movie. The book was awesome, baseball is awesome, Brad Pitt is dreamy, and all signs point to the film being very well made. Anybody else planning to go see it?

I am going to try and see a bunch this weekend (no idea what I will achieve), including: Moneyball, Drive, Contagion, Killer Elite, Higher Ground and Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame

    Ebert 4/4 - http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/...110929999/1001

    Metacritic 89 (very early obv) - http://www.metacritic.com/movie/moneyball

    Rottentomatoes (Very early obv) - 92/100; 72 fresh/6 rotten - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/moneyball/

In my personal experience, people I know who 'love every dogshit movie' they see tend not to like the ones I think are good... just a personal observation and I haven't seen Drive so I can't comment on it yet, but I am guessing someone who loves generic movies will not like a film with a bit more of an art house feel.
  21. Thursday before a movie's release really isn't that early for rottentomatoes. The number is basically locked in by Friday, its unlikely to shift more than a couple percentage points between now and then
  22. I've heard the more you like baseball, the less you'll like the movie. I'm going to see it, probably not in theaters, but I don't have huge expectations.
  23. The book was about business and the introduction of sabermetrics for scouting and building a team, Not a feel good story about the Oakland A's, they didnt even win anything.
  24. i heard Mike Trout was brought in as technical advisor
  25. Your mother told me the movie was awesome.
