  1. Okay now im curious as to "Can roulette be the most profitable game" or any game where you have almost exactly 50/50 odds on landing your bet.

Lets say you have $5,000 in your online poker account so you say "hey letes play a little roulette today"

You bring all 5k to the table or w/e large amount you want and bet $1 on black, you lose, then you bet 2$ on black, lose again, then 4 lose, then 8, lose then 16, lose then 32 lose, then 64 lose, then 128 lose, you get the pattern.

Obv IT WILL land on black eventually. And if you have a stable roll you keep doubling your bet(bet losses x2 and will double all loses so far accumulated.

Once you win you drop down and bet 1$ again and continue this procedure as many times as you want.

Am i onto something or is my theory flawed?

Note: i tried this today and made a 150$ profit. Seems good to me but someone please give thoughts on this.

Why or Why not will this work?
  2. "Gambler's fallacy"
  3. if i saw this coming in your previous post, i never would have responded

  4. the house is risking 1$ and you are risking your entire bankroll.

martingaleaments. if i'm level't so be it.

  5. Fact: This isn't YOUR theory.

    I have pdf file lol
  6. lol. read books much? you're obv the first person to ever think of this foolproof plan.
  7. holy shit! quit job immed. and get rich.
  8. Okay i wasnt saying make a living off of it and i was looking for some actual responses on why this wont work. And yes im sure someone has came up with this before.

But please can someone tell me why this wouldnt work?

  10. How is the house risking 1$ and the person is risking there entire bankroll

its not like im betting 100 and if i win i get 1$. the house would give up 100 as well.....

  11. Because there is no such thing as an infinite bankroll, and no casino be it online or brick and mortar will let you double your bet as many times as you want.

By the way, good luck having the $1,073,741,824 to double your bet again after you lose 29 times in a row.

A little common sense for you, no matter the strategy anytime you put money down as an underdog paying even money it is a long term losing situation.
  13. Martingalaments syndrome, etc..

In real world it cannot work. This is because of table limits.

If you had 1 billion dollars, and started at $1, and table max was unlimited, you could theoretically bet $1 more than your last loss and make a profit at some point. BUT, you may get to the point where you are risking like 100k to win $1 profit, etc...

With table limits, you will reach your max too early for any type of odds to kick in.

If you use this system, and happen to win early, then you have to walk away while up... only way you can win.
  14. thanks for all who replied seriously and it really was appreciated i did do some googling and i see how the house wins in the long run. again thanks to the helpful responses

  16. Why won't it work? Look at all the big casinos in Vegas they were built by people with ideas like yours.
  17. No amount of money is enough to make it work, and $1 billion dollars isn't even enough to pay for 29 losses in a row.
  18. cause all your doing is trying to win $1 and risking your entire bankroll doing it.

What your betting on is that if you bet on black, it wont land on red 12 times in a row. If it does this, you will have just lost $4095.

If the ball lands on the opposite color 12 times on a row, the house wins all the money. If not, the house looses $1 for every time your color comes up.

You could try this... just not on $5K. You would need a lot more... in which case, you wouldnt waste your whole day doing this for about $30 an hour (or whatever it would be).
  19. for the love of god tho if you decide to do this do it in blackjack where the house has to pay 1.5-1 ury now and then

  20. It's amazing how some people think they have a new foolproof gambling strategy but it's evident they don't understand basic probability theory. Like they're some brilliant person who is the first to ever come up with this idea.

Little secret: people have been gambling since humans first became capable of counting and deciding upon something to bet on. Gambling is one of man's most favorite and timeless enjoyments. You really believe that you've discovered some wonderful new strategy that is this simple?
  21. You're doing all of this for a $1 profit...so follow me here

Lets just say the max you can bet comes up after 8 losses

    1
    2
    4
    8
    16
    32
    64
    128

The odds of going 8 straight rolls without hitting black is (20/38)^8 = .005888

    Basically 1 out of 170

When you lose 8 in a row you lose $255

So, 1 of every 170 times you do this magical run you lose $255 and 1 of every 169 times you lose $1

    $169 - $255 = -$86

EV = -$.51 everytime you do this

  23. yea i know this. im not a fool.

My point was that this would work if you had tons of money. But if you did have enough money for this to work, it wouldnt be worth it.

    Either way.. its stupid.
  24. stfu bobcat. why do people like you even post when all your do is trash and down other players.

excuse me for trying to gain knowledge at something i have never played before, just came here so other people could tell me why or why not this would work. again thanks for all the helpful posters out there as you guys are what makes this site so good.

As for you bobcat you could prob never log on again and no one would miss you bashing other players.

  26. lol @ risking 62 million to win $1

    ***edit

    BILLION
  27. My post was to show you that no matter what amount of money you have, this will never work.
  28. Oh hi der DaVols.
  29. Whatever lady. You don't need a little advice, you need a BOOK ON PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS!

    Here is my advice:
    1) Go to Library
    2) Go to section with stats/probability books (you may need to consult a librarian)
    3) Check that mother out and read it!!!!!!!!!!!
  30. 2 words - MAX BET ...... this is the same question people ask for blackjack .. there is a limit bet you can place where if u end up down $100 and go to place a $200 bet then depending on the table you might not be able to if the limit is $100 . so then ur fucked .. they work the min and max bets out perfectly so u cant keep doubling endlessly .. normaly it would be like 7 or 8 doubles b4 u max bet
