    Amen Brother Amen
  7. Major Applewhite following him apparently.

    Oh, and this.....

  8. I would think that Florida could have done better. Mack Brown is completely fucked now though, lol.
  9. Florida done better? I don't know about that.. Muschamp was getting HC money just to stay at Texas. I think he is pretty legit. Just seems weird Florida having a defensive minded head coach.
  10. I am shocked, UF must've handed him the whole world b/c the UT job was already his but I guess he didn't want to wait for Mack to GTFO. This is awesome for OU b/c Muschamp is gone and Stoops is staying in Norman. That being said I was hoping Spurrier returned

  11. Colin Cowherd said he knew who it was but could not break the story. He used the acronym S.T.A.B. Anyone have any idea how this fits or was he just wrong?

    Stold Texas Assistant Bill?

  12. well this is a relief. now i dont have to worry about Mullen taking the job which in turn would make me worry about Malzahn taking the Miss St. job

Muschamp was one helluva D coordinator at Auburn.
  13. I say wrong.

  14. Mack is fucked. I wonder how many recruits they lose in the next week or so as they scramble off the Textanic.

I wonder how many recruits FL will pick up
  17. Lol I am a die-hard horns fan. Currently attend UT. Shit has absolutely hit the fan. All around Austin. This isn't just a great DC heading to better places. This is HCIW heading to another HC. He sees whats wrong with the status of our program atm. We've been blessed to have Texas anywhere between good and great for the past 10 years, but good god be ready for the dark ages. Hope it doesn't happen but holy shit this could be UT anywhere from back in the hunt to BOTTOM FEEDER for the next 3-4 yrs. Rumors are Alabama OC, Wisconsin OL, and Nebraska S/T coach on the way. Good god. But just got back from a local bar in ATX and shit has absolutely hit the fan. Sheesh. All rumors aside, cannot blame Muschamp. We pay him 900k. and $900k < $4-6 Mil

[SIZE=2]Quincy Russell said this may change a lot of things for him. He doesn't know exactly what he wants to do. He's going to talk to his family and his coaches, try to figure things out. He doesn't know if he'll make his visit next weekend. Everything's up in the air right now.

Steve Edmond said this is definitely something he'll have to think about. He said he may not go to Texas if it's all true (it obviously is). He's going to sit down with his coach on Monday and try to figure out where to go next.

Case in point. Good god muschamp brought so much intensity and everything we needed as Mack is leaving. Thank god we got jeffcoat and jordan hicks which were the top recruits in the country. But good god this is bad, bad news for Texas right now. In so many more ways than just coaching. FML

  18. Texas will be fine, give Mack Brown time to get a staff/keep recruits...I would think 95% of the coaches in the country would love to be at UT. Mack Brown didn't forget how to coach after one bad season.

What has he done to show he will be a great hire? Coach the defense under the best defensive head coach Nick Saban? Or coach an overrated team at UT?

It is a real stretch by UF not going after a proven HC. This is not what anyone thought Foley would do...hiring a coordinator.
  21. As crazy at it seems to say it, he might have been better off taking the Tennessee job last year - they might actually be the better team over the next few years. Then again, that may just be homerism talking.
  22. What has he done?

Texas was in the top 20 nationally in defense the time he was there.. until this year.. which they are 51st in '10. But the suckage of Texas offense isn't helping. You do remember he was at Auburn as well and they had a hell of a defense during his two years there. He is legit for sure.

  23. Tejas done goofed. Muschamp will be at worst a good to very good hire for UF. He's a very hungry coach who will put together a staff of 9 other highly motivated coaches. I was really hoping Urban would hang on for another year with his 40 hr work weeks for FSU's sake. Miami shouldn't be doing anything in the near future which will funnel more high end FL recruits to Tallahassee and Gainesville creating some good match ups over the next few years. Will has connects to put together a great, motivated staff and Florida has the funds to pay them. UF has all the infrastructure and they'll be wanting to prove themselves again to the college football world after this season and they will in due time.

If UGA under performs again next year and cans Richt, they'll hire Smart and you'll have branches of Saban's tree leading the Tennessee, FSU, UGA and UF programs, not to mention the godfather himself at Bama. Pretty crazy
  24. w/e FSU state champs for a few more years,

UFs defense is fine, its there offense that is the major problem, they have no QB, no WR, no real RBs and there o-line is suspect...

lol @ Texas fans in panic mode, the one positive for Texas is your location and you will continue to recruit like crazy. these things happen tho where programs go from elite forever to taking dips. Nebraska did it, FSU did it, Miami doing it, USC is doing it, Michigan doing it, Tennesee doing it, Texas and Florida starting to do it etc etc

Under one of the great LB/DB coaches Tubberville. He has learned form 2 of the best thats for sure, but this is a stretch for a nationally top ranked team.

Just read he is going after Kirby Smart....That would be huge for him.

And to add....Muschamp has no ties to Florida. The last coordinator that they hired...even with ties to the state was none other than Ron Zook.

  27. Did you just compare the Zook hire to the Muschamp one? Zook was an obvious stabilization attempt to keep the Spurrier staff around. Muschamp was the a You are out of touch if you think they are remotely comparable.

Muschamp is a ridiculously big hire. The guy is a Saban disciple with NFL experience and ties, however short his tenure was in the NFL it was real. To think he didn't make some connections in the Florida area with two SEC jobs and a job with the Miami Dolphins is pretty naive.

The guy has a strong defensive staff that is going to follow him.

I would compare the hire closer to Chizik. Steal Tulsa's OC or HC and let the Gator chomp.

Not comparing just stating what happened last coordinator was hired. This could turn out either way. Chizik or Zook. Hell Zook was really awful he did win 7,7,8 games in 3 years. But thats not what Florida is about. They are about winning 10 a year. It is still a big stretch hiring him. I wonder who all turned it down before they settled on Will. The disciple thing really doesnt fly. How bout Belichick's disciples?
  29. It's not Zook. Comparing it to Zook is wrong.

Your whole post about muschamp 'doesn't fly'.
