Kings Of Leon left thousands of American fans disappointed when they cancelled an outdoor concert after just three songs, after pigeon droppings landed on bassist Jared Followill’shead.
The band refused to return to the stage at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in St Louis. The lights were cut and organisers announced the gig was being halted due to “safety concerns”.

“This show cannot go on,” an announcer told the angry crowd. “The situation is beyond our control.”
Fans were unaware of the reason for the cancellation until Jared’s brother, drummer Nathan, took to his Twitter page to set the story straight. “So sorry St Louis. We had to bail, pigeons sh*tting in Jared’s mouth and it was too unsanitary to continue.”

But he didn’t get the response he expected, with disapproving fans criticising the band for what they saw as a lame excuse. Nathan was quick to defend his bandmate: “Don't take it out on Jared, it's the ****ing venue’s fault. You may enjoy being sh*t on but we don't.
“Sorry for all who travelled many miles.”

The Sex On Fire band are midway through a US tour. They will be back in the UK to headline the V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on 21-22 August, and frontman Caleb recently said concert-goers should expect to hear songs from their forthcoming album. "If we were to go out there and play a concert and not play new music, it would feel like we had our hands tied," he explained. "I think we would be bored with the show.

“It's inspiring to be able to go out there and play new songs. Not only are you testing the songs out on the crowd, but we have that, 'Oh, sh*t!' moment when we're looking at each other. Are they gonna like this? Are they gonna sit down because it's not Use Somebody?"

and she drove in from Memphis and had a hotel room...she should have known it wasn't gonna be a good night tho when she bought her 1st $9.50 beer and spilled all of it, lol...what a waste of money but at least I think she is getting a refund on the ticket but not the gas, hotel, food and beer...

I recorded audio at this show - please pass this link onto your friend, perhaps it will alleviate a small percentage of her anger/frustration.

It is worth listening to for the crowd response at the end of the file.

he sent me a pm and said he found the thread on google search and felt bad about what happened and wanted to send a cd to my friend...kinda weird but I doubt a cd will help alleviate my friend's discomfort over the situation...I feel the same way you do, take a break, announce to the audience what has happened and allow event staff to try and fix the problem if they can...I mean, 1 pigeon shitting and its unsanitary??? gimme a break...

Yah I'm sure she'd take a ~$200 refund on top of the tickets being refunded.

Gas from Memphis + hotel ain't cheap.

Ha, I saw this on Nathan's twitter. I was like wtf....and then after googling it realized that the opening band had the same problem. Except they played through it...even making jokes like "oh hey our drummer just got shat on."

I mean pigeon poop is disgusting, but just wash yourself off and continue? I used to be a huge KOL fan (obviously I hate Use Somebody) and this is extremely gay.
