Well in 6 days I begin my journey to become a Marine and ship off to Parris Island SC. This time last year i was a fat pig at 270lbs. Dreams really do come true!!!! Move over goofy! /end brag
-
cool story
my only advice is:
"don't do anything stupid, like getting yourself killed" - Lt. Dan -
that's cool metfan. Congrats on getting the weight in order and thanks for your future service. Any crazy plans this week?
-
Yea, get wasted haha
-
Good luck, thank you, and be safe.
-
thank you for your service met!
-
Awesome!!! Great job for doing this. Its a drag at times, but you'll have so much fun in retrospect. Don't volunteer for anything. just try to blend in. don't be the first or the last in anything as those guys seem to get more attention than the rest.
-
Congrats and thanks for having the patriotism and the courage to serve, sir. Stay safe.
-
gl with your training.
-
Thank you for stepping up and GL!
Keep your mind right and rep the country well. -
Congrats and thank you.
-
your theirs for however long your enlistment is, for me its 5 years active, most is 4 but my specific job is a 5 year.

GL man I did 8 in the Air Force. Any plans of making it a career and doin 20? Wt madeyou pick Marines over the other branches?
-
GL, Congrats and stay the course. In response to (olo's) advice, it is true, especially during Basics, but once you become a marine, Volunteer, and never be afraid to be 1st in anything you do, but yes, last is not what you want at anytime in anything. It would all depend on how long of service you intend to serve and how many stripes you want to carry around. But olo is giving you good solid advice for going in as a recruit.
The best of luck to you. -
Im gonna see how i like the first 5, its either gonna be 5 and then law enforcement or 20.

As far as picking the Marines, my father is a Marine and I wouldnt go any other branch haha, i know all branches have a job but ive always been raised being told how the Marines are the hardest most elite, and while everyone may have their own opinion I beleive they are. They have Strong core values and a rich history. -
Enjoy! Hope it really isn't your last week as a civilian.
-
great job on losing the weight. keep up the good work and thank you for your service.
-
I am sure you will make a great Marine. Best of luck and thanks for serving.
-
Good luck and ty. Also good that Obama just repealed that law - now you can serve openly as a Mets fan.
-
As a frequent lurker, poker player and Marine, I wish you the best of luck. Any advice send me an PM. your life is about to be turned upside down. Lol, its all fun in hindsight.
