    Ok this is my thing:

    If a person seriously thinks about, there is no good reason to reproduce. To what, invent stuff, produce stuff, work, play , whatever. What essentially is the whole point of this. If I wasn't born, I wouldn't realize it obviously, so it wouldn't matter. And don't gimme that the joy they bring crap, I'm talking the actual purpose.

    what I'm saying is if every single person dropped dead and never reproduced, why does it matter? What are we doing that is so important to justify our existence

    what's wrong with joy crap? my dog greets me every day I come home with joy and for that i'm thankful. Not sure what other purpose she serves but it brightens my day.

    The purpose of my generation is to make the lives of the next generation better. Each individual's role in that process varies from significant to insignificant.

    I'm guessing that OP's role is the latter, and that he is OK with that. So long as you don't make it significantly worse, I got no problem with that.

    That or give it to someone that posts the hottest picture of a mother/daughter combination (since we are talking about generations).
