Nat Geo: Lockdown. legit?

    I was watching one of the episodes of Lockdown on Nat Geo last night.
    It was about a max sec prison in Utah.
    Two barracks, 1 recreational area split in half with a big fence. 1 barrack for females 1 for males.

    Anyway, there was this rather unattractive inmate, lets call her Juanita (cant remember what her name was), she claimed to be a gang member of the Sorenos afaicr.
    She basically walked the cameraman around, showing him the secret places. Where the beatings happen in the back of the bigass freezer, how they female inmates communicate with males in the recreational area. She explained how the sign language they invented works. She also showed the camera how to fold an A4 sheet to make the letter as small as a box of matches.
    She then, showed nat geo how she, or any other inmate, would send said letter to the addresse (in the male barrack), using the treys at lunch.

    And the above is just a slice of the prison "secrets" she gave away.

    I mean, really? You can just do that?

    Is she stupid enough to talk about this on TV, giving away all their secrets?
    Or were these well known facts to the guards and she was commanded to do so?
    Or is the entire show just fake shit?

    Her time suspiciously expired at the end of the show, and she got released, but I like most of the shows on nat geo and would be disappointed if I found out it was fake.

    Anyone seen it? Or anyone has a deeper insight of nat geo shows? or prisons? or juanita?

    I've seen this episode and I thought the most interesting part was her ordering the Aryan people to have the **** beaten out of them for throwing up those Hitler signs, lol.

    so you guys saw this episode great. do you recall 2 enormous bags of waterbombs carried by one of the guards just after the raid? Forgot to put this in OP, but after raiding the cells, trying to get evidence re any gang activities, 1 of the guard was pulling 2 big bags of waterbombs. Narrator stated those were the collected evidence. lol
    Maybe I'm mistaken and those were not waterbombs but I think they were.

    I should've recorded the show so i can doublecheck...been trying to come up with a vid from youtube or somewhere but I failed.

    I'm sure prison isn't really like that. It's a lot more like Disney World. Or maybe (and I'm just going out on a limb here) the combination of her sentence coming to an end and the glory of being on camera compelled her to give the insight that she did.

    If you like watching prison shows, watch Hard Time, also on NatGeo. Some inmates sit in front of the camera doing things that are illegal and can get time added to their sentence. They clearly don't give a shit.

    The ingenuity of some inmates can be quite outstanding. If she goes back she is probably dead tho.

    not really related to the post but a few years ago my brother had won inmate of the month at stillwater prison in mn, my mom still has the bumper sticker on her car.

    Yeah I thought her being an attention whore. She may think now that she is released she is some kind of a celebrity. she didn't seem too smart tbh.
    I'll def check out Hard Time.

    I think it's real. I just think since it was probably filmed in like 2009 she knew it would air for awhile

    was either bags of water (for working out) or it was hooch (homemade drank)

    Police Women of Cincinnati, the cop arrests a guy a keeps telling the camera how if he had white shoes on instead of the red he was wearing he would have blended in and gotten away. They goes over to the suspect and tell him the samething, criminals in cincy got a little harder to catch.
