I just wanted to share with OT some truly inspiring people IMO that i have had the pleasure to work with the past 3 years. Most of these guys are veterans of our military and come to my town once a year to play golf and enjoy themselves. This event was held at my best facility named Santa Maria (Baton Rouge). Its a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design and one of the last that he did.
Here are a few pictures. The point of this post is to call attention to these truly inspiring people and also to possibly motivate anyone with similar disabilities that may not realize that a group like this exist.
Oh, and if youre wondering. All of these players can shoot in the low 80's.
Low round for the week was 74. course played about 6500 yards for this event.

This is my favorite one of all.... If only more of us could smile after the hardships weve been through. -
are they allowed those carts on the greens?
if they are that would be a pain to tap a putt in -
Yes those carts can go onto greens. they are specially designed to only displace about 9llbs per square inch. to put it in perspective a person walking on them displace about 11llbs per square inch. Oh, he also has a rubber suction cup on the grip end of the putter to get the ball out the hole.
-
for people who cant walk yeah I bet that is allowed on. Im sure that cart is a lot lighter than most people think. Riding mowers that courses use Im sure are heavier than that cart is by far.
-
Thats pretty incredible. Like you said, good to see those people all having a good time and smiling after everything they've been through. And to think they would smoke me on the links too?!
-
Man, I was feeling bummed about some aspects of my life today, but if those guys can smile like that then my stuff is trivial. Thanks for sharing.
-
NAGA please!
-
ty for posting these.
very strong individuals, clearly. -
Yep, they can play better than most. The greatest thing about these people is that they have no ego. They never complain and are always smiling.
-
amazing! nice share.
-
hooks,
Not many people would have known them as NAGA here. But, you are correct, it is NAGA. -
My life is easy...
but that's only because I don't golf.
I really admire anybody who has the patience and fortitude to golf. I've tried and I just can't do it.
Kudos to those guys who can. -
That's cool but I give most of the props to the guys with one arm, that has to tough to swing a club accurately with only one arm. Still, all pretty impressive considering I've never broke 100 golfing and I'm somewhat normal.
-
Which one does everyone think would be the toughest to master?
1) One arm golf
2) Prosthetic legs golf
3) No legs golf
I would have to go with #1. Imagine how strong that one arm has to be to get any distance at all...not to mention muscle memory to learn how to swing correctly for accuracy -
After being around these guys for 3 years now. One arm golf is IMO the most difficult to master.
Their touch and feel is amazing. I will also add that many players from this group have told me that they are better golfers as an amputee than they were prior to. -
Very cool, thanks for posting. Those guys are good golfers. I golfed the Trail in 2002 and never shot lower than 85. Eff Jones and his raised greens!
-
#1 for sure.. for anyone that has played golf can understand, that pic with the guy missing 1 arm is amazing.. the others are inspiring too, but playing golf with 1 arm and being able to play decent is fucking incredible to say the least.
-
Very Kewl. Very inspiring.

IT brings a Smile to your Face. There is this Local in the Sydney Area (Bankstown Golf Club)and I think he is one of the Best Amputee Golfers in the World, he plays off +1 or something redikolous off 1 leg. Its so good watchinmg him hit it, He brings a New meaning to the word Balance. He walks with a fake Leg on, Then Takes it off when he Hits it, He putts with 2 legs tho.
