  1. The main event: San Antonio vs. Oklahoma. Series begins Sunday after a long hiatus.
don't even utter the words gay marriage with these two. Spurs -180, poised to elongate the oldest dynasty in sports.
The Thunders (+150) look as strong as ever, breezing through the west's last two champions.

Spurs should score on them at will.
Ibaka won't be able to push Duncan around and Perkins can't keep up with the PNR Parker will throw at them.

Spurs don't have anything to throw at either Durant or Westbrook, but team defense will be key when Duncan can roam free.

Pop gets another ridiculous matchup to run circles around.

Key for OK to pull the upset is RWB stepping up to the plate defensively & keeping the tempo up.

Celtics vs. Heat will be fun too.

  2. ban.

fwiw I made the conference semi finals thread the day it started and my team was playing in a few hours
  14. Should be a pretty sick conference finals, where the winner will probably be a big favorite to take down the NBA title. Gotta give a slight edge to the Spurs based on championship experience and coaching - Brooks is a great coach and its not like its Pop vs Vinny Del Negro or anything, but Pop vs anybody is an advantage for the Spurs since he's one of the best NBA coaches of all time.

Matchups should be interesting. Ibaka might be able to slow Duncan a bit with his athleticism, but I think Duncan is just way too much of a crafty vet in the post to not get the better of that matchup. I think that if OKC was smart they'd toss Perk on Duncan so that Ibaka can patrol the paint and pick up some weakside help blocks. Then again, if you go that route, that would take Ibaka out of the paint if he's guarding man-tits Diaw, and I doubt OKC wants Ibaka hangin out on the perimeter defensively where he'd have far less of an impact. Parker doesn't really have a prayer in defending Westbrook, and its probably true the other way around as well, although Westbrook's athleticism might give him a slight upper hand defensively. Durant is an obvious mismatch for, well, anyone, and especially the Spurs. I think their best bet would be to toss Kawhi Leonard on him due to his freakish athleticism, but even so, Durant still has a 3-4 inch height advantage on him.

Either way, really lookin forward to this series - 2 best squads in the NBA battling for the West crown.

other than that, if I wanted attention, you guys are really good at giving me what i want.

or maybe some people actually care about the spurs and the thunders series and want to post about basketball.

  21. there is no denying you made this thread early, why even try?
  22. The butthurt in this thread is amusing.
  23. Parker vs Russ is the kind of matchup that we are all lucky to witness while Parker is still playing at a really high level. In a series of such evenly matched teams, I can't help but think the coaching mismatch is going to cost OKC in this series. I put more into that factor being an issue than the experience edge of Parker, Duncan, and Ginobili over Westbrook, Harden, and the other guy.
  24. Harden v. Ginobili is the best pairing,
    They're exactly the same~

  25. The Spurs organization really is absurd; as a Nets fan it is mindblowing to see a club run that perfectly from the offices to the end of the bench.

On the other hand, we do have 4 guys under contact for next year! If Adam Morrison is in a Brooklyn uniform next season, I really might finally push a hipster in front of the L train.
  26. adjhfdhagk if that happens...
