Maybe he thought Felton was in the passengers seat with no seat belt on?
-
I did... and i was really happy about it. I think i'm no longer a nets haters. They left the disgusting pile that is the state of new jersey, they have a russian billionaire owner, affilations with jay z, and they're in fucking Brooklyn. I've despised the nets hardcore because of the year they beat the celtics of Antoine Walker in the playoffs like 2 years in a row, specifically that eastern conference finals. But now that they've left new jersey, and j kidd the scum sucker is a member of the knicks, i no longer hate them and kinda like their squad.

plenty of room on the wagon, boys. welcome aboard

dallas only had like $4M in cap room apparently. how the suns didn't beat that is beyond me

Granted, he's not gonna leave that much on the table... I'm sure it pays off on the back end. -
so yeah the hornets matched eric gordons offer from the suns hes played a total of 9 games for them and got traded there before last off season.....how did the nba players union agree to restricted free agency....Gordon said he didnt wanna be there and it seems pretty crazy that if a guy didnt wanna live somewhere for a 4 year period in his 20s and would much rather play for another team that he will essentially be forced to play for that team..as a suns fan gordon would have been a good pickup but does anybody else find restricted fa rather odd.

it's completely fair... teams should get compensation when great players leave. If he bitches and moans enough like dwight and melo i'm sure he can find a way to get himself traded elsewhere. -
i assume he was on his rookie contract with 1 team and the last years of those are restricted...he gets traded somewhere to where he ends up not playing a bunch and is in final year of his contract....he should have to play there for 4 years to a place he has no vested interest in....i mean restricted free agency is super dumb but its only been allowed by having max contracts/salary cap which is ridiculous....any league that pays lebron as much as brook lopez then something is off
-
he could have played one more year in NO to become UFA next summer.
-
exactly. so basically lol @ ur whole rant. I mean i'd be mad too. He's better off in new orleans anyways, he just doesn't know it. Great young coach, star with the brow and a new owner who wants to make something happen.

gordon is an idiot. you dont become a RFA and then cry and say I want to play for another team. it just doesnt work like that.
-
he wanted his cake and to eat it too and now he's only getting cake
-
they're better off not overpaying mayo and building through the draft imo. Unless Mayo can find his swag again.
-
that's a pretty dumb reason to "lol @ his whole rant." gordon can risk $50+ million to become a UFA. awesome. it's so easy, man.
yes, he could do that and become a UFA. but don't act like it was a "choice" in any real sense. the system is set up in a particular way where he didn't really have any other option. -
uh....why not?

i mean this was actually his only option if he wanted out of new orleans. the hornets had a TON of leverage because of the ability to match. what is he supposed to do if he wants out? and if you say sign the QO, then lol @ you; he can desperately want out of NO and still realize that he has to take the money while it's there.
in fact, he did pretty much the only thing he could do to try to convince NO not to match. it didn't work, but crying and saying he wants to play for another team was, really, his only option to put any pressure on the hornets. -
Dispute between the Rockets & Knicks over the offer sheet deadline:
Knicks feud with Rockets over phenom’s deadline
The apparent conflict as to exactly how long the Knicks have to match Houston’s 3-year, $25.1 million back-loaded offer sheet revolves around when the offer actually was delivered. According to the collective bargaining agreement, teams have 72 hours from the time they receive an offer sheet to make their decision. The deadline is traditionally worked out between the teams without league intervention.

Do you agree with Carmelo Anthony that the Rockets' three-year, $25.1 million offer to Jeremy Lin is "ridiculous"?
70%
Yes
30%
No

Pretty sure I'm officially the only one left in NY that still thinks the Knicks match the offer sheet
-
So he can keep his little whiny mouth shut and take the pay check or he can suck it up for a year and then play where ever he wants. It's not like he had to sign the offer sheet. It's just like Dwight crying about not being in BK when he's the one that signed the option. If a player is unhappy they should do what is the fastest way to get what they truly want. By signing the offer sheet he chose the money over location.

There's a very clear system in place. If players arent smart enough to take advantage of it then it's on them. -
Apparently if the Rockets offered all that, Orlando would have snap accepted.
DAldridge says Morey is offering:
"The Rockets, according to a league source briefed on the discussions, are willing to take one bad contract back from the Magic, not two or three, as has been speculated. And in return, Houston will give up one of the their three first-round picks in last month’s Draft– Jeremy Lamb, Royce White or Terrence Jones –but only one.
Houston would also send a future draft pick to Orlando, which is presumably the lottery-protected pick that the Rockets received from sending Kyle Lowry to the Toronto Raptors. The Rockets would also be willing to send a veteran player to the Magic in order for Orlando to clear $10-15 million of cap room."
