Edited By: warden Jun 15th, 2012 at 05:16 AMi'm not just saying they should/shouldn't call it (but i don't think they should). i'm saying it won't happen, it never happens, and you should realize that it isn't going to happen and plan accordingly. it would be LESS consistent to make that call when refs NEVER make those calls late in the game. if you drive, the refs are going to let the defense get away w/ some contact in that spot. that's what happens, and you shouldn't be shocked/appalled if you drive and that's exactly what happens.Originally Posted by darkpoker12

None of this situational bullshit, it's like in soccer when refs swallow their whistle when there should have been an obvious pk call. Refs are too scared to have a game decided by a pk or foul. Just keep the rules consistent

I also said I thought he was sliding a bit, but that call has been a charge 1,000,000 times this year in the NBA. Feet were clearly outside the circle, and his right foot was established when Durant took off. With regards to the rule, it's a block. With regards to the way that play has been called all year, it's a charge. And like I said earlier, I would be totally in favor of a no call.

Definitely a 50/50 call, but you know as well as I do that Durant easily could have fouled out on that play. It was 1/2 from the line, plus Durant wouldn't have been in to snipe at the end. -
i'm fine w/ a no call (and was fine w/ it until the refs decided to call it 3 seconds later)
but that isn't a block. -
very pleased that wade didnt get to 6 assists after he had 3 right off the bat.
@Randers i dont think +/- is what you want but if they re-air it, ill watch for it -
i'm fine w/ the charge because i thought it was a charge
and i'm sure a large part of it is that i'm looking at people complaining about not calling a foul on lebron and saying "well then that's definitely a charge on durant." almost certainly influencing the way i look at that blocking call on battier -
Both of those plays are fouls on the defense or no calls, imo. It was a shit game with an awesome ending. OKC didn't deserve the W and the refs don't deserve the grief.

Better? -
Clearly a Miami I'm bandwagon fan after we got Lebron so shake a grain a salt on your nut sack.
But all game long looked like heat weren't getting any foul
Calls cause they had a 10+ lead over okc.
Am I wrong ?
Was this game called good? Or were they favoring okc.
Last play can suck it it's getting called 1-50x's regardless of who's driving -
Now find me a play where the ball handler jumped, the defender then moved into position, the contact happened, and it was called a charge.

would have been a charge if battier just stayed put with his left foot. im good with no call. block is fine too

Way to step up on that question Durant.
Q: Do you believe you were fouled?
A: I missed the shot, man. -
Kevin durant seemed pissed in the post-game.
I liked it. Better be careful, or his wholesome image might get questioned. -
outside of the millions these pro sports athletes make, Id hate to be them during these worthless, irrelevant post game interviews with the media. you got 55 year old white men who never played a sport in their life asking you "how are you gonna stop lebron next game"?? something needs to be done. only thing that can come out of those interviews is if an athlete loses his cool and goes crazy. besides that theres not one positive that comes out of these interviews.

You don't believe players should be available to the media? Don't go after a career in marketing then.

If http://www.nba.com/games/20120614/MIAOKC/gameinfo.html is correct and I've calculated it correctly...

tell me one thing youve ever taken from a post game interview that didnt involve a temper. the players should have their publicist make a statement via text or email. its the same song night in and night out. its redundant and tiresome
