I will be running a NCAA March Madness Spreads Pool (obv) this year. There will be three tier of buy-ins: $25, $50, $100. For those of you, who are unfamiliar with the rules of a spreads pool, please see below.
Rules- For every buy-in, a player is able to choose a number (1-64). Once the brackets are assigned, I will randomly assign the numbers to specific teams via the "numbers in a hat" method.
- Multiple buy-ins per person are permissible
- If the number you have requested is unavailable, you will be assigned the next available number.
- Each tier will have a different number sequence. For example, #10 in $25 tier will represent a different team than #10 in $100 tier.
- Once the games begin, I will retrieve the spreads from Sportsbook.com at midnight (central time) before the upcoming day of the games to get the most accurate line.
- From this point on, the team that advances is the team that either covers the spread or doesn't.
- Example 1: If Duke (-5) plays Illinois first round and Duke beats Illinois 66-60. Duke advances and the person with that spot advances in the brackets.
- Example 2: If Duke (-5) plays Illinois first round and Duke loses to Illinois 60-71, Illinois then advances in the tournament as does the person with that spot.
- Example 3: If Duke (-5) plays Illinois first round and Duke beats Illinois 66-64, Duke advances in the tournament but the person with Illinois advances in the brackets. From this point on, the person who previously had Illinois is represent by Duke.
- This type of swapping/not swapping continues on the entire tournament till it is over.
- If you want to participate, please post the following in this thread: "Stars Username," "Buy-in Level," "Amount of Buy-ins," "Number requested"
- Transfers will only be accepted via pokerstars to "thedonator42 (Homer Glen)" to ensure completeness.
- Numbers will only be assigned to a participant once the transfer is confirmed.
- As said previously, Sportsbook.com will be the only source of lines throughout the entire tournament. If a line is unavailable through sportsbook.com, bodog.com will be used as a backup.
- An Excel sheet through Google will be used to keep track of which numbers have been taken, seen here (Updated every day at midnight (central time) until the numbers are taken.)
- Once the tournament begins, I will create separate brackets to show who has won and lost each day, also to be viewed as a Google document.
- All monies will be paid out with 24 hours
- Note: If for some reason a tier is not filled up by the time the tournament begins, I will refund the money owed within 24 hours.
- Every team making it to the Elite 8, gets paid. I've done this multiple ways before, but Elite 8 works the best since it keeps more money in the prize pool while still paying out those who made it furthest.
- Payouts
- $25 Tier
- Elite 8 - $50
- Final 4 - $100
- Championship Game - $200
- Champion $400
- $50 Tier
- Elite 8 - $100
- Final 4 - $200
- Championship Game - $400
- Champion $800
- $100 Tier
- Elite 8 - $200
- Final 4 - $400
- Championship Game - $800
- Champion $1600
- $25 Tier
- Just for clarification's sake let's say you win the championship game in the $100 Tier, you get back $200+$400+800+1600= $3,000
-
Is no one interested?
I was also thinking about running a squares NCAA Madness if there is enough interest.
/Let me know. -
And you get to pocket $175 no matter what happens? That is nice for you.

Haha I'm not a scammer. I also worked changed the pay-out structure so that I don't take a cut.
As for holding, I'm currently in the works of talking to someone from zonacrew.net who is reputable in OT. I want to obviously prevent a "Chaz" situation. Once I hear back from the potential holder, I'll let everyone know. -
can you fix the formatting for the rules so i can read it without wanting to kill myself
